Rhum J.M 2011
"Here you get a lot for your money," as one member put it — a 10-year Martinique agricole that leans fruity on the nose (grape, kiwi, red fruit) then turns woody and spiced on the palate, ending dry with a little chocolate. Several tasters love the balance; the recurring gripe is the 41.8% ABV making it feel soft, like something's missing.

How does Rhum J.M 2011 taste?
Aggregated from 52 community reviews.
Fruity, spiced aged agricole, softened by low ABV Well-liked and balanced — fruit up front, spice and dry wood behind, with tobacco and cherry in the mix. The one repeated catch: the low ABV leaves some wanting more punch.

A very harmonious J.M., although the alcohol strength is relatively low, it has an astonishing intensity on the nose and palate and is very present. While the fruity aromas predominate on the nose, the palate is more spicy in nature. The finish then switches to the herbal side. I really like this one 👍🏻

As I am not a big fan of rums from J.M, I enjoyed this one a lot! Very fruity and delicous with an awesome nose 😏🤤 I would buy one or more bottle, if it has a higher ABV or costs 20€ less. Due to the low ABV it seams very soft and I got the feeling that something is missing…

A particularly balanced and authentic JM. The nose juggles spices, wood and dried, tropical fruits, with none of the aromas taking over. Very supple on the palate, this JM shows great complexity, particularly on the spices and fruit that awaken its character despite a titration of only 41.87%. The finish ends on a soft, warm note of spices, candied fruit and orange. A very fine 2011 vintage.

A strong Agricole, but also a really cool Agricole, I must say. In addition to Agricole, there's also some chocolate on the nose. On the palate then also a lot of tropical fruits. A top rum...

Very fruity nose of red fruit with wood and caramel. Very greedy. On the palate, unfortunately, it's a step down, even if it's good. The fruit disappears, giving way to spicy, woody notes. The 41% also does this rum a disservice.

Very balanced fruity nose. But not grassy, but really fruity like grape or kiwi. Very sweet and woody on the palate. Dry and chocolaty in the finish. But not as smoky and green as the XO. Both I have to compare again directly.

Despite the low alcohol level, this rhum is very interesting with long and nice flavours
