3 badge mixology Kirk and Sweeney RESERVA
Caramel, vanilla and cane sugar over a thin, creamy body — this is a soft, sweet Dominican column-still rum that most tasters found pleasant but plain. A few pick up coffee, mocha and dried fruit; several call it a bit synthetic and note a short finish. One member summed it up as an "Entry to sipping rums." Easy, but not much depth once you go looking.

Aggregated from 108 community reviews.
Sweet, easy beginner sipper, short finish Well-liked as a gentle beginner sipper — sweet, creamy and never harsh. The recurring gripe: it's thin and simple, with a short finish and little to explore for experienced drinkers.

A simple, solid rum, but unremarkable in every way.

Today we have a delicious Kirk and Sweeney. A little sweet and sugar on the nose. Also a little sweet on the palate and a hint of vanilla. A little too sweet, of course, but you can still drink it
Review by MarcT
Next one of the mainstream sample set. Not bad. Not good. Just OK. The nose has some fruit, the tongue is has not much left of it, it is very mild and creamy. A bit on the sweeter side. What to do with it? No idea, a bit weak for mixing and it does not exist as a sipper.
Review by TheRhumhoe
A light, gourmet, simplistic Hispanic rum like many others. The initial nose is of chocolatey wood, caramelized to excess, with sweet spices mingling with sweet, caffeinated notes. There's not much to add to this, other than a semblance of dried fruit. On the palate, the thick, syrupy texture confirms the sweetness. Very smooth, the profile returns to spicy wood, caramel, sugar, roasted coffee notes and dried fruit. There's not the slightest hint of aggressiveness. The finish is short and unimaginative, with the same soft, light texture described above. A simple, linear rum, discreet, conventional and flat. Perfect for beginners to the world of spirits.

Very thin and watery and somehow resembles shoe polish... Not my cup of tea!
Review by Thunderbird
In the nose caramelized sugar couleur, thin on the palate, initially sweet later toasty and becoming bitter!
Review by Decky Hicks Doughty
The nose has all the typical "rum" notes; vanilla, caramel and ginger. There's also a pronounced cream note that I get often from column still rums. Some chocolate and apple after further nosing. The palate has strong coffee notes that mix with some chocolate and the usual column still creaminess to give a mocha quality to this rum. Lots of allspice as well. It's a tad synthetic tasting. Not much to the finish. Short and keeps the mocha from the palate. Some vanilla from the nose shows up right at the end. Not a rum I'll be buying again. Too much column still creaminess, the coffee notes are pleasant but I suspect this was taken off the still at an eye watering strength.

Bref next !
Review by X-Savior
On The Rocks: On the nose there is mild marshmellow with mild dark chocolate and mild young woody notes. Taste is smooth with a momentary spice influence that starts sweet and fades into a slight bitterness. The finish is smooth medium length with a brief return of some spice and sweetness. It is starting to show some initial signs of complexity building. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose very mild sweetness and very mild oak. Taste is smooth with mild sweetness but feels off balance. Not overly enjoyable mixed and would be better as a sipper on the rocks. Finish is short with sweetness fading into bitterness.
Review by PapaZulu
Nieco rozczarowuje. Zaletą tego rumu jest jego delikatność. Idealny jako support przed degustacją innych rumów.

Light coconut and some honey. Clear copper pour. Some oak in the finish. A hint of citrus.

Une très beau flacon avec un très beau bouchon et une couleur prometteuse mais à part cela c’est à peu près tout! C’est alcooleux mais sans grande saveur, ça manque cruellement de finesse. Au final j’ai préférer le finir dans le baba au rhum

Equilibrato, note legnose al naso e al palato
Review by Ondra RumRunner
Very nice bottle.Rum weaker. Apart from the tanginess at the end, I find it bland.

Belle couleur m. Nez extrêmement plaisant sur la gourmandise, pâtisserie. Bouche moins expressive. Reste doux et alcoolique pour un 40 %. Finale sur le bois.
