Im Segment 20€ ist dieser Rum ein wahnsinnig guter Schnappschuss. Kann definitiv pur getrunken werden, macht aber bestimmt in Mixgetränken eine sehr gute Figur. Sehr fruchtig, Karamellsüße, etwas Holz und Gewürze und dezent Röstaromen. Seife an der Nase!Natürlich etwas dünn und unausgewogen, aber wirklich beeindruckend in Anbetracht des Preises.

The nose has some crisp apple and foam banana notes. Sweet vanilla and oak in the background. Quite subtle. The palate has a sweet honey note that is most present but then some toasted marshmallows and ripe apricots. The finish is short but sweet, full of tannins and ends with earthy licorice. It's not bad. It's not going to blow your socks off. But can be sipped neat if required.

Not super complex on the nose and surprisingly vanilla-dominated. Some weird candied sweetness. Very thin and flat in the mouth, but what there is to find is delicious. The finish is a little spicier but otherwise similar. It's nothing for me neat, but it's great for mixing.

Aroma mild, mainly vanilla with molasses, a little coconut and something baked. Flavour mainly a mix of caramel and molasses, vanilla, some banana. Short finish more caramel with baking spices, light citrus and tropical fruit. A simple but fine rum.

Mainly fruity, but no real Jamaicafeeling here yet. Minimally soapy/clinical, but after a little air spreads mainly dried flavors, especially apricot.Refreshingly unsweet on the palate with some barrel and toast in the middle part, while it tends towards the end very apricot and minimal mango.Solid mixer for the lighter variants, but probably sinks in 'nem Mai Tai with decent ingredients.

Good basic rum. Clean and tasty. Has some gentle fruity/ funky notes with vanilla and some sweet (honey) notes. It is quite subtle, verging on thin and I think the Appleton 8 year justifies its extra cost for the additional flavour intensity from a price to value perspective.

Suprisingly very good. Young age which is a major advantage because of the ester/solvent notes that appear and aren’t killed by barrel aldehydes. I personally liked it a lot. Affordable, smooth and estery. Thats a good bottle for sure

Live tasting at Appleton: the nose is very citrusy. The taste already has a nutty, nougat-like note. The finish is rather mediocre.

Well dipping my toes into Jamaican rum, and an introductory one at that…. Now I get to try this in a proper Glencairn glass rather than a tumbler on a cruise ship The nose is unlike anything I’ve ever smelled - when reviews mentions Jamaican “funk” I totally get it…. Reminds me of Campbeltown Scotch Whisky where reviews mention Campbeltown “funk” - it’s totally vague yet something that clicks when you mention it I can taste the bananas, tropical fruit that’s a bit overripe as well as honey, brown sugar, a bit of oakiness although it’s a fleeting presence as well as apricot and a slightly toasted note like either toasted barrel or toasted coconut For an entry level rum, this was more complex and enjoyable than I anticipated - I appreciate that it isn’t considered “proper” Jamaican rum but as an entryway into the sector it’s approachable, light yet flavourful Quite fond of this one!

If I could imagine myself as a brachiosaurus back in the jurassic period chewing on leaves and shit, my herbivore tendencies would graviate toward this rum. It's not neccesarily terrible, but neither is a dressingless garden salad. Appleton Signature was very herbal and grassy for me with a pungent mouthfeel. I wouldn't turn her down if offered, but I feel I'd personally reach for something else on the shopping shelf instead

Always reminds me of my trips to Jamaica. Though older versions and some other rums are better drinking neat, this one will always be dear to my heart in my memories and drinking it. I do highly like with diet coke. It makes the coke taste close to a vanilla coke

Bought this for the yearly eggnog batch but pleasantly surprised by the neat sip. A lot of fruit on the nose but doesn't really make its way into the palate which has a huge amount of honey element to it (I love that). Very smooth and easy to sip if not the strongest flavor. Makes me very excited for the eggnog to age if it can impart that honey flavor to the batch. Very much worth it.

New to rums. First smell. Alcohol but not strong. Ignore first sip. Second sip. Spicy. I sense the vanilla and apple. I way to say slightly Burnt vanilla if that’s a description. . No way on banana or coconut. I sniff again and can smell the molasses. It’s a subtle sip. My go to for tiki drinks

A lovely gentle medium-light rum with a touch of overripe fruity “funk”. Price/performance is top. Great for daiquiri, rum sour, old fashion, try it with demerara syrup. Combine it with Plantation (aka Planteray) O.F.T.D or so for extra depth in dark cocktails.

Gleich vorneweg: Es ist eindeutig ein Mixer! Macht sich super in Kombination mit Cola oder Sprite/7up. Der pure Geschmack ist flach, nicht aussagekräftig. Ich würde aber immer den Mount Gay Eclipse (mit Fassstärke) vorziehen. Auch wenn der Signature nicht schlecht ist! Vor allem für den Preis, den man mittlerweile bekommt.

Quite good. Fruity, pineapples and banana, vanilla & caramel, very subtle spice. Good quality Rhum but for the price around here, don't know if pays off the quality diference for the extra cost. Way better than a Barceló Anejo or Plantation, but almost double price... It's good, but it stand in muddy price range....

This is a great intro rum. It’s cheap, relatively smooth, and inoffensive. Very floral and alcohol-forward on the nose. It lacks a bold flavor but does have subtle notes of fruit and vanilla. It’s enjoyable, but not likely a cabinet staple.
