At 56.5%, this drinks far gentler than the number suggests — round and oily rather than sharp. It's a proper Martinique white: fresh-cut cane, cut grass, mint and a squeeze of lime, with a peppery, vegetal finish that runs surprisingly long. Several tasters call it one of the better-value organic agricoles, and a genuine argument that white rum needn't be bottom-shelf.

Un rhum blanc bio bien élaboré, qui offre au nez de belles notes vertes, florales, mentholées et herbacées, des arômes d’agrumes et une trame légèrement épicée. Un profil globalement assez complet et attirant au nez. L’attaque en bouche est suave. Elle fait preuve d’une belle rondeur. Les notes fraîches, terreuses et végétales de la canne à sucre se conjuguent aux zestes de citron et au poivre pour un ensemble cohérent avec le nez. C’est assez classique mais très gouleyant. C’est un rhum parfait pour contredire les personnes qui estiment que le rhum blanc est condamné à rester un produit bas de gamme. La finale est d’une belle longueur, sur le même registre que le nez et le palais. La verdure et les épices hausse le ton de cette finale assez vive. Si d’autres distilleries se démarquent un peu mieux sur l’exercice du rhum blanc premium, on saluera le prix très raisonnable de cette cuvée de Saint James, qui se détache ici de son étiquette de rhum de supermarché.

14.06.2025 Retasting and I still like it a lot. --------------- 26.02.2022 Enjoying some samples at home. Notes Transparent in colour. Nose Fresh, vegetal, light mint, sugarcane, light citrus, floral. Palate Oily, round, vegetal, sugarcane, light vegetal, prunes, light salty, light olive. Finish Medium long, oily, warm, light olive, salty, cherry, light citrus.

Un rhum agricole plutôt typique de ce que sait produire Saint James. La canne est très présente, normal sur un blanc pur jus. C'est herbacé, citronné. Très frais et agréable. Bonne longueur. Idéal en ti-punch.

Très beau rhum blanc, énormément de fruits et gorgé de soleil. Super produit à ce prix (39,90€), un agricole comme je les aime avec une sucrosité géniale. À boire pur ou avec un zeste de citron vert bio (sans sucre).
