A blend of unaged cane-juice rum and 3-year Foursquare molasses rum, it's soft and rounded — one taster even got "coconut lip balm". Both the smell and the taste are very strongly reminiscent of pretzels and pretzels. But ultimately the rum is too light for my taste and has too little body

Overall an quite interesting rum that works well neat as well as in drinks and cocktails that I tasted at the Cane Rum Society in Stockholm which is the bar in Europe with largest amount of different rum on their shelves. The tasting was led by the co-founder of the brand, Mr Ian Burrell. It saw the light of they not far ago in a collaboration between Grays Distillery in Mauritius, Mr. Ian Burrell and Mr. Richard Seale owner of the Foursquare Distillery. It consists of unaged rum from Grays made from sugar cane juice and 3yo molasses based rum from Foursquare.

#6274 24.01.2026 Online tasting with a few of the guys today. Thank you Peter for the sample gathering and distribution. Nose Light, sugarcane, light vanilla, apple, citrus, faint wood, faint smoke. Palate Light, sweet, oily, apple, vanilla, sugarcane, light coconut, light caramel. Finish Short to medium, light wood, apple, oily, sugarcane, light caramel, spice. Empty glass Light honey, citrus, sugarcane, vanilla, apple. This is an easy drinker and might be one that I use with ice cream of for baking.

A great flambéed banana note and cream toffee with candied ginger. Plus plenty of green Granny Smith apple with cinnamon and honeydew melon. Super unusual and delicious. Makes a great pornstar martini!

This rum is quite okay, nothing special but okay. You immediately smell sugar cane and for much it also smells quite spicy. Citrus fruits and lemon peel are added on the palate. The alcohol is quite well integrated.

Very exciting rum, especially the nose! I've never had anything comparable in a glass. It's not quite to my taste straight, the fresh sugar cane note is too present for me. But I have a very good feeling about using it in a cocktail one of these days. I think it could do very well there!

Die "light" Version des Equiano konnte mich leider nicht überzeugen. Zuckerrohr überwiegt aber das kann ich auch deutlicher und eben originärer haben. Solides Produkt sicherlich aber für mich fehlt hier einfach der Kaufgrund, dann lieber den älteren equiano wählen da zahlt aber spürt man auch deutlich mehr am Gaumen.

Mostly I just get coconut lip balm here. Has a very soft flavour over all. Pours very pale golden in colour. In the mouth it's round, light. Some florals. Definitely a step down from their dark rum. Curious to see if and how this changes based on all the current drama surrounding this company. Had a glass of this at La Cosecha.

Blend of unaged cane juice rum from Ile Maurice + aged Foursquare rum. Raste : Creamy, rounded, buttery with ints of Apple notes. Interesting and really fresh in a daiquiri. Missing a bit of punch though
