Naga Edition Anggur
Anyone curious about a rum that drinks halfway to red wine will find this the whole point. Naga's Indonesian molasses spirit sits heavy on redwine, dried fruit and caramel, with a sherry-like sweetness some tasters loved and others found overwhelming. Several say the wine buries everything else, and the finish runs short and a touch spirity. Interesting rather than easy.

How does Naga Edition Anggur taste?
Aggregated from 98 community reviews.
Sweet, red-wine-heavy rum oddity Divisive. Fans call it a fun, wine-soaked oddity; skeptics say the red wine dominates and it tastes more like sweet wine or brandy than rum, with a short spirity finish.

Hodně odlišný rum oproti tomu, co jsem kdy ochutnal. Je příjemně sladký, přesto je hodně cítit po vínu.

Very sweet and fruit schnappsy on the nose. Red wine. Bubblegum. Haribo. Taste: sweet cheap wine. Too much wine. More sweets. Strawberry lemonade. Thin. Not my thing.
Review by Lutz Lungershausen
I always find the combination of rum and ex-red wine barrels exciting because it gives the fruity aromas an extra dimension. This is also the case here: fruity nose with a little yeast, develops pleasantly on the palate and is also simply delicious and round on the finish. I would have given it 7.5 or more with a little less yeast impression.
Review by Andrea Morini
It shows a deep amber color. Notes of dried fruit, chocolate and spices can be perceived on the nose, although heavily covered by the fruity aromas of the red wine. On the palate there are barely perceptible notes of caramel and vanilla typical of rum with the fruity taste of the wine, which is very intense and almost completely covers even the medium persistent finish. This is not a rum for purists but still a pleasant product with good value for money for those who want to try something special. I personally find the final aging too invasive, which alters the distillate too much.

Trochu dřevité, rozinky, červené víno, trochu alkoholový konec. Celkem zajímavé

Sample no.15 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2023. The red wine barrels really comes through on the nose and palate. Hard to tell anything else since the wine is so dominating, this could almost be mistaken for a strong dessert wine if it was a bit more sweet and a bit less ABV.
Review by Arnaud Faverjon
C’est loin d’être fou, clairement trop sucré, mais on sent le côté tannique du St Emilion, ce n’est pas mauvais duller se boit facilement. Pas mon style mais comme je l’ai lu ailleurs, il y a tellement pire!
Review by Jürgen Menner
Well, not really my thing, tastes very fizzy, the taste is very much in the direction of brandy

To finish the "24 days of rum" calendar, I'm going to do 4-5 samples each day. The nose is heavy with redwine and some caramel. In the notes I almost got a whisky sensation; some yeast flavor, wood and fruits
Review by rum_sk
Very interesting sample, not the most favorite one from Naga I must say but that is only because I am not a wine fan and this one is all about wine. It reminds me of sherry sort of due to its sweetness. Medium to long finish. Overall a fine rum but I dont think I need to saviour more than a sample.

Well, I don't really like this rum that much. It tastes too much like wine, or rather port wine with a slight cherry blossom. Not quite to my taste, unfortunately. Certainly very tasty with cola.

"We've seen worse In summary, my degustation notes: On the nose: Alcoholic, caramel, and others difficult to describe. On the palate: dried fruit, burnt sugar, caramel in particular, Finish: Melon".
Review by steffen
It's not me but has a distinct berry scent but the flavor disappoints, hence the grade.
Review by passlemix
Perceptible alcohol on the nose, lots of caramel but not a very pleasant caramel smell, more on the industrial side, not a very nice nose. On the palate, it's round and one-dimensional, with an equal emphasis on caramel, a rum that's neither good nor bad, but clearly not my cup of tea.
Review by Oskar Lindmark
Great note, a big drawback on the finish
