CoR Foursquare Barbados 1998
Coconut is the thing everyone remembers here — one taster calls it the most beautiful coconut on the nose he's had from Foursquare. Around it sit caramel, vanilla, roasted oak, marzipan and a touch of banana, with mocha and spice on the palate. A dry, complex 22-year column-still Barbadian at cask strength. The 60% is well folded in, though you'll still feel it.

One of the best Foursquare bottlings I've had in my glass so far. Luckily I was able to get hold of the last bottle at the GRF 2023 😄 I had it in my glass again today, after a long absence from Foursquare, and it's unbelievable how delicious the rum is. An essence of the typical Foursquare profile.

Absolute top foursquare! Perfectly integrated alcohol, great coconut caramel note, yet complex and intense! For me probably the benchmark for '98 Foursquares. Not as sweet overall as other FS.

This is one of my favourite Foursquare rums and also the one with the most beautiful coconut on the nose. Fruity with spices and roasted wood.

Very good Rum from Foursquare (the best of the three samples i got). Price per value is satisfying. You will notice the 60% for sure! Alcohol is integrated well. Nose: Classic Barbardos. Cashew nuts, Tropical fruits, vanilla, oak, marzipan, coco, banana, Honey. On the palate: Roasted, Vanilla, Marzipan, with a note of nuts, mocha and orange peal. The finish is medium long with an astringend feeling with notes of oak, vanilla, mocha and leather.
Review by Mirco
Very complex Barbados rum with intense notes of ripe fruit, vanilla and spices. The 22 years show a beautiful depth and elegance. Powerful and balanced with a long, warming finish.

pretty intense FS! Besides the coconut also some spices, such as allspice and vanilla, also something fruity direction banana. On the palate, toasty notes, barrel, mocha. What prevents a top note for me is the relatively present alcohol, both on the nose and on the palate.

Wow. One of the best Foursquare I've had so far!
Review by Oliver
Very good Foursquare. A little too much sharpness on the palate for a top rating.
Review by Jakob
For me, is clearly ahead of its peers from the CoR series. Pronounced notes of coffee and herbs offer an exciting complement to the other flavors that are associated with the classic Foursquare profile (oak, toffee, light minerality, spice notes).
