Nobilis Enmore No. 5 AWM 1988
Dried fruit, licorice and roasted wood, with dark chocolate and a lightly bitter, smoky-fruity finish. Several tasters call this the best 1988 AWM they know and note how "surprisingly lifely" it stays after 32 years in the cask — a light-colored Versailles that's easy to drink for its age. The recurring gripe: a thin body and a profile some find a touch one-dimensional.

How does Nobilis Enmore No. 5 AWM 1988 taste?
Aggregated from 49 community reviews.
Fresh old Enmore; light body, some bitterness Well-liked as an old Enmore Versailles — chocolate, licorice, herbs, unexpectedly fresh and easy to sip. Common catches: thinner body than the age suggests, and a profile not everyone warms to.

A really great Enmore.Tastes of dark chocolate, licorice and herbs. It is extremely easy to drink despite its complexity.

Delicious chiselled versailles with a touch of yellow fruit sweetness compared to the greenheart 1990 VSG.

On the nose, I find the rum fresh and fruity. On the palate initially sweetish, mild then somewhat woody and in the course slightly astringent and becoming bitter. The finish is relatively short! A fine rum

A pretty decent Enmore. Fruity with nice roasted wood. Coffee, licorice and chocolate in the back. Love the smoky fruity finish.

Best 88 AWM I know! Amazingly good, just a little thin. I would like to see more body!

Review by Tschusikowsky
Underlines the versatility of rum. An easy sipper but still very much complexity. Especially the finish is very versatile. Nevertheless, I do not really warm up to the Mark.

I just needed to upvote my original score.. Definitely needs time to breath.. 1 hour is fine. Now that the acids and bityness is gone , it actually good and smooth
