Habitation du Simon A1710 Cheval Bondieu #2 2020
Most tasters land around "very good but atypical" — this Martinique cane-juice rhum doesn't drink like a classic agricole. Think dark chocolate, coffee, toasted oak and warming spice, with red fruit and honey underneath. Several note the alcohol runs hot and the grassy side is faint. One reviewer called it a genuine tasting rum, not an everyday pour.

How does Habitation du Simon A1710 Cheval Bondieu #2 2020 taste?
Aggregated from 57 community reviews.
Bold, spicy Martinique rhum, not typical agricole Well liked for its bold, spicy, chocolate-and-coffee profile that breaks the agricole mold. The recurring gripe: the alcohol pushes forward and the finish can feel short.

A rum tasted at Rhum Fest in 2024. The nose is marked by citrus fruits, especially lemon, with darker, honeyed notes balancing out the rest. The palate is initially marked by alcohol, then fruit and vegetal notes take over. Unfortunately, the finish is too short, but the empty glass is splendid.

A very good rum. Its age is surprising as an aperitif. A fine reference from the A1710 distillery.

#4476 18.11.2023 Another very nice bottle. Medium fruity with nice roasted wood notes. The palate is warn/spicy with nice herbal notes. The finish is long and spicy with a touch of cherries.

Alcohol too predominant! Slightly woody notes on the palate with chocolate and coffee predominating. It did not excite me!
