CDI T.D.L Trinidad (Bottled for Germany) 2003
The mint here is the whole story — not a syrupy candy mint but, as one taster put it, like chewing fresh mint leaves straight from the garden. Behind it sit black tea, menthol, tobacco, licorice and oak spice, plus flashes of mango and lychee. At 63.8% the alcohol is remarkably well tucked in. Several call it their favorite TDL; a few find the mint almost too much.

Finally i opened my Xmas present 🤤 WoW what an amazing rum. Nice color and smell right from the opening to the last drop. Minty, nuts, dark chocolate, licorice, some fruits. Tastes a bit like After Eight..This is practically what i like the most! The alcohol and wood is intergrated very well. It’s a well balanced and super delicious, complex rum from TDL!! Lovely!! Nose: Minty, floral, black tea, green, menthol, delicious, fruity, woody(oak), spicy, licorice, nutty, almond, a bit a sweetness Mouth: Strong, full bodied, complex, elegant, balanced, oily, dry, round, astringend, minty, tobacco, green, mango and plum, menthol, burnt sugar, spicy, licorice, woody(oak), nutty, roasted almonds, dark chocolate Finish: long, dry, full bodied, delicious, menthol, minty, Thymne, black tea, oak

Even if the other tasters have not tasted this so I find this rum tastes and smells pleasantly of lychee. And I love the taste. I also liked the dominidad strangely much better than the rest of the tasters

simply the coolest thing there is from Trinidad TDL in my opinion. I have never experienced such a blatantly authentic tasting fresh and green mint note... as a friend says so beautifully. make an old fashioned with it and it comes out a mint julep. or leave out the mint in the mojito 🤣💥🤤 The longer you drink it, the more notes of lychee, lime juice and zest, Thai mango, iced tea, peach and lots of roasted flavors from the barrel are added, all accompanied by this fantastic mint and the incredibly well-integrated alcohol! For me, definitely the absolute TDL benchmark on the market!

I am speechless! Never would I have thought that a CDI could be so perfect. And beyond that I can say without hesitation: the best T.D.L. I have ever drunk! If at the nose still an interesting fresh-medical smell imposed itself, as one knows it from a dentist's office, then after opening the mouth in anticipation of the treatment, the mint mouthwash grabs you with power and does not let go even after swallowing. What rum!!! Name me a comparable, which shows no weaknesses like this 😉.

Zitronenmelisse, Verveine, eine Spur Curryblatt, Minze aber nicht dieses mentholige, sondern die frische eines Minzblattes aber das Blattgrün. Habe das Gefühl ich schmecke die kleinen Härchen auf dem Blatt. Recht explosionsartige Ausbreitung im Mund. Abgang bleibt lange. Mega speziell. Coole Nummer.

Es kommen einem gleich sehr ausgewogene Noten von Minze, Menthol und Schwarztee entgegen. Diese Noten machen sich dann auch im Geschmack extrem bemerkbar. Unglaublich viel Minze und Basilikum. Genial. Langer und verdammt süßer Abgang. Ein Brett von einem TDL.

What a surprise! The nose doesn't offer much, a little closed I thought I'd be disappointed BUT: on the palate it's rich, intense, mentholated notes tending towards basil, super surprising, and very cool. Tobacco, mango, tea and citrus round out a fresh but delicious profile. Great! The finish lingers, the alcohol well integrated.

Pokud je člověk línej si po večírku čistit zuby, doporučuju pít toto. Rozpuštěné mentosky jsou top popis. Ve vůni ne až tak silně ale po napití se pusa naplní neuvěřitelnou porcí máty, která přechází do syrové podoby čerstvě utržen máty. Perfektně integrovaný alkohol, super rum!

Definitiv einer der besten TDLs die ich kenne. Die Nase noch etwas zurückhaltend mit viel Krankenhaus Flavor ist der Rum am Gaumen ein Paradies wenn man Minze mag. Nicht nur weil sie so intensiv ist sondern weil die Minze perfekt eingebunden ist. Dazu ist der Rum super ausbalanciert und der Alkohol perfekt eingebunden. Das macht Spaß. Für mich nicht der Beste... aber einer der Besten. Gerne mehr.

Sehr intensiv und komplex. Bißchen alkoholisch in der Nase. Wird immer angenehmer, je länger er atmen kann. Am Gaumen sehr würzig und minzig.

Wieder mal eine echte Minz-Bombe von T.D.L! Dazu kommen Lychee, Zimt und etwas Vanille. Am Gaumen intensiv mit viel frischer Minze! Wow, wie krass ist das denn?! Fast schon wie ein Minz-Schnaps (aber in gut!). Wer auf Minze steht kommt hier voll auf seine Kosten! Ein echte Erlebnis.

This is a very rare bottle released for the European Market and in this case Germany. A very nice rum where the nose has a bit of smoke to it besides fruit and a mint. The palate is well balanced between alcohol and fruit. A spicy kick from the start that sticks for a long while. If left to rest more than 15 minutes the flavours really kick in. The finish is long fruity and has a bit of natural sweetness to it. Price to quality is good.

Eine ordentliche Portion Minze und auch fruchtige (Beeren) Aromen an der Nase. Dazu Gewürze und Karamell. Am Gaumen dann anfangs sehr parfümiert und fast etwas seifig, bevor dann die volle Dröhnung Minze durchkommt. Frucht und Karamell im Hintergrund, in Summe leicht floral. Sehr schöne Abfüllung!!

In der Nase Karamell, leichte Kräuter und Teer. Im Geschmack dann schöner kräftiger komplexer TDL, nicht so minzig wie manch andere Vertreter. Vielleicht der stärkste TDL für mich. Im Abgang dann holzige Süße wieder. Wirklich stark.

Farbe: Bernstein Geruch: Aromatisch und würzig nach Kardamom, Zimt und Vanille. Zudem fruchtig (Ananas, Birne, Traube, Limoncello) und süß (Honig, Zuckerwatte) blumig mit Parfüm. Etwas scharf. Geschmack: Zunächst süß und weich im Mund. Beim Schlucken sehr kräftig-alkoholisch, holzig, würzig scharf mit Ingwer und Kardamom. Toffee, Leder, Tabak, Lakritze und Sandelholz. Aber auch fruchtig nach Mango und süßer reifer Papaya. Abgang: Mittellang, trocken und würzig-holzig mit Ingwer, grünem Tee und Sandelholz. Leicht bitter im Nachgeschmack. Fazit: Ein wirklich sehr leckerer komplexer Rum. 86

Verkostung mit dem 2001 von Rum Artesanal 2023 abgefüllt. Der 2003 wirkt in jedemfall deutlich jünger es macht in im Gesamtpaket für mich deutlich mehr zum easy Sipping Rum. Der 2001 hat einfach mehr von allem bis auf Minze 😅
