South Pacific S.B.S Fiji 2002
People already deep into Fijian and Jamaican funk are the audience here. Expect esters, papaya and glue on the nose, then a savory, salty, woody palate with honey, licorice and tobacco. One taster calls it "a bit more savory than the typical Worthy Park." Cask strength and rough at first — most say it opens up beautifully after a few minutes in the glass.

Another retaste and it lost a few points, but still a great rum looking at the price tag. Price to quality you get a lot for your money. Fruit and esters combined with a nice spicy and warm palate. I get a light honey note on the nose and palate as well as a hint of mint on the finish. Really nice rum.

Profil fiji très agréablei. Mais Alcool aurait pu être mieux intégré. Ça le rend moins accessible.

This is a very interesting, impressive Rum from Fiji. I enjoyed this a lot. The wood and alcohol is integrated very well. In the nose a perfect mix of fruits and the barrel with some nice smells of esters and nail polish. In the mouth it’s added some nice rubber, licorice, almond, vegetal, pipe tobacco, tea and olive tastes. The finish is quite long with a lot of barrel notes without being to bitter.

Fermented fruit, esters, rubber, glue, anchovies, licorice, honey, sweet warm spice, stone fruits. Amazing drink. Didn’t like it as much when I just opened the bottle but after giving it some time to open up it really delivers. It’s underrated here I believe. Well after doing a few more crosstastings I have to deduct points. It doesn’t hold up well against other high end bottles. I still love it as a standalone after a nice meal.

Top Fiji, great complexity: Fresh fruit and spice notes meet wood, tea and licorice. If Fiji reaches this level, then the South Pacific Rums really get a unique selling point at a very high level. Great bottling.

Overall, a spicy, woody rum with a touch of ester! But to play at the top, it lacks something!Fidji Tasting No. 8: 2nd tastingOn the whole, my first tasting has been confirmed, but this time I taste and smell a few more nuances of fruit and funk out! That gives a few points more 👍🏻

Herbal to earthy undertones paired with funky fruit notes. Quite astringent on the finish. Eucalyptus very pleasant on the palate. Alcohol very well integrated.

A good representative from Fiji with the typical "Fiji funk".

Mein erster 2002er Fiji.

Rum Pure!!! Every euro was worth it! Straight from the barrel. So multi-faceted with many nuances. The initial alcohol Esther in the nose disappears after 5 minutes and goes into the fruity. There I will still taste some. Maybe try it on ice.

Frais et funky ! Super Fidji

Absolutely fantastic Fiji. Very complex with floral and vegetal notes, besides the ester and spice. The long barrel aging comes through beautifully. Top.

Very Jamaican/WP styled Fiji. A bit more savory than the typical Worthy Park.
