Love it or hate it - completely your own profile. I like Le Galion well, even if I can understand that not everyone will be happy here. The bottling has similarities with the Grand Arômes of Savanna, but again brings a somewhat spicy-herbaceous note purely, which in return the fruit ester sharpness somewhat invalidates - if one can speak of it at all here. Worth trying in any case!

A nose reminiscent of a young Jamaican. A palate that's sweeter than I expected. A slight peatiness that's not disturbing and is even pleasant. Nice! Easier to drink than I expected.

Had a nice The Nectar tasting yesterday in preparation for today's Renegade tasting, which I really look forward to. Nice and fruity rum from nose to finish and the palate adds a bit of smoke, menthol and spices to it. There is some spiciness to it but I can't put my finger on whether it's pepper or ABV coming through, no netter what, I like it.

Wirklich ein starkes Teil. Ehrlicherweise leider heftigst africole, ansonsten alles top hier. Sehr pflanzliches Teil, ansonsten auchvrecht medizinisch, Zitrusfrüchte sowie Olive lassen sich hier erkennen.

Pretty extreme stuff but no wonder with galion as the starting product and then packed in PX & DOK barrels :D Olive, menthol, beef jerky, some baked banana, fermented tropical fruits and sugar cane and overall rather sweet/sour. Exciting but nothing for every day 😂

Quite disconcerting, because on the nose you immediately think of a Jamaican, so you're far from the usual Martinique markers. It's quite pleasant on the nose, and on the palate too. Nice length, you don't feel the 59 degrees at all.

The nose is rather powerful, with herbal notes and Jamaican solvents. All softened by the Sherry cask. Esters, olives, tropical fruits... all wrapped up in the atmosphere of a pharmacist's queue. On the palate, it's explosive and complex, going off in all directions like fireworks. It's truly experimental and uncontrolled! It's plant-based, with freshly cut grass in the morning, raisins, orange, varnish, solvents, mint, burnt sugar...

At first I have to admit that I like Jamaica style funky white rums, so I am the part of those who love this. Oh man this is what pure spirit should taste - according to me - a lot of fruits, funky menthol and medicinal tones and even olives…and no harsh alcoholic in the end only warmth I’m the body. Great for summer night like today. But of course not suitable for everyday drinking. So the color is like white wine Pinot Gris - light yellowish. The nose - you can name it- sugar cane, overripe fruits, grass, menthol and little bit of medicine. Very promising. The taste is what you expect from nose…you can have anything from explosion of sugars, fruits, grass, esters.. The aftertaste is short to medium, salty, sweety.. Overall I like it, great bottle for summer party with other rum friends.
