"I set myself up for a Hampden and got completely surprised" — that's the story here. The tropical fruit and esters are there, but a smoky, peaty, almost meaty whisky-cask note muscles in and splits the room. Some love the wild mash-up; several felt it buries the Hampden DNA and tastes like old candy. At 62.6% the alcohol is unusually well integrated.

Ich hatte mich beim Verkosten auf einen Hampden eingestellt und wurde vollkommen überrascht. Der hohe Estergehalt trägt zum mundfüllenden Erlebnis auf der Zunge bei. Die typischen tropischen und funky Aromen geraten schnell in den Hintergrund von dunklen Früchten, Holz, Rauch und was Fleischigem. Klingt total verrückt, ist es auch, mir gefällt es sehr! Der Alkohol ist super eingebunden und das Mundgefühl ist warm, adstringent und speckig-ölig zugleich. Vielen Dank für das Sample @BananaJoe

In der Nase sehr schöne fruchtige Noten die sogar ein wenig ins Grüne übergehen. Geschmacklich kommt dann ein deutliches Jamaika mit vielen Estern zum Vorschein, dabei jedoch gut eingebunener Alkohol. Im Abgang eine Mischung aus fruchtig, bitter und einer Süße ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Alles in allem sehr schön, schade das er nur für den japanischen Markt gedacht war.

So, endlich den Jazzin im Glas. Am der Nase zunächst die typischen tropischen Früchte und ein bisschen Ester. Dann gesellt sich ein leichtes Jodaroma dazu, was ein bisschen an Betaisidonasalbe erinnert. Das verfliegt aber zum Glück schnell. Am Gaumen erkennt man dann auch Hampden, auch wenn die Aromen nicht soo intensiv sind. Dazu eine leichte, bittere und rauchige Note. Stört mich aber hier irgendwie gar nicht. Alkohol ist sehr gut eingebunden. Der Abgang lässt dann wirklich auf ein Whisky-Finish schließen. Mir gefällt er sehr gut, leider wird wohl keine weitere Flasche mehr zu bekommen sein.

Im Abgang hab ich leider eine rauchige speckige Note. Ich vermute ein Islay oder anderes Komisches Whisky Fass. Ansonsten ist das ein ordentlicher Hampden, dem ich mehr Punkte gegeben hätte.

Uh, nein! Das sind Welten die für meinen Gaumen nicht zusammen passen. In der Nase weckt er noch Erwartung durch die atypischen Gerüche nach Karamell, die an Carambar erinnern. Aber im Mund für mich (auch im Kontext der anderen heute probierten Jamaikaner) leider kein tolles Erlebnis. Schmeckt für mich nach alten Süssigkeiten. Ich hatte mich auf Hampden eingestellt, das hat sicher damit zu tun. Werde ihn dann noch alleine probieren.

Mhm wieder ein sehr komischer Hampden. Klar erkenne ich hier die schönen Ester und tropischen Früchte, aber es gesellt sich hier doch auch wieder eine gewisse Fehlnote hinzu, die ich nicht passend finde. Fühle mich wieder sehr an einen Whisky erinnert, durch das rauchige. Wird es definitiv nicht in meinen Favoritenkreis schaffen. Aber besser als der Esterhunter Catch 2 gestern. Aber diese Whiskynote die bei mir im Kopf aufblitzt, bricht ihm hier das Genick
