Valinch & Mallet Enmore The Spirit of Art REV 1994
Nearly everyone who tries this lands in the same place: a heavy, complex Enmore REV that people call a "REV-König" (king of the year). Prunes, plums, leather, dark chocolate, licorice and black tea, with real tannins and a dry, slightly bitter finish. One or two found it a touch flat or the alcohol a bit forward, and a violet-soapy note can creep in after a long rest — but that's the minority.

According to the current state of my personal REV king. Pronounced plum notes and subtle tobacco accompanied by noble dark notes of leather, licorice and wood. The comparison of the 1994 REVs is the rum version of the clash of the titans - who has something for the heavy sweetness, the trenchant plum notes and the tart barrel influences that make up this Marque, has certainly great joy in the cross-comparison as I do. And depending on individual taste, other frontrunners are definitely possible here - in the overall package, I see the V

Quite dry REV. Little fruit and a lot of barrel ageing. Incredibly complex. A real REV highlight!

Very nicely balanced on the nose. Heavy on dried fruits, working nicely with your classic dark REV notes. Very good. Excellent on the palate on the palate as well. Nice variety of fruits with hints of Tabasco notes. Perfect balanced with darker notes. Here milk chocolate, espresso and the perfect amount of wood/ a dry finish. Top notch REV. Cheers, Jarek for the sample!

More accessible than the other REVs, more balanced overall. Only a few bitter notes. Very long finish. Full-bodied, heavy rum for long winter evenings. +1 for style and issue price Had it in my glass again after years. Raised to a 90, as this rum now deserves an outstanding rating for me. Processing so much chocolate and caramel in a dark, spicy profile deserves recognition.

A fantastic Enmore in which you'll find everything you need to make a great rum: the nose shows outstanding balance, great finesse but also character, with a heavy, opulent side of dried fruit (prune), dark, roasted wood, leather, spices (licorice, vanilla, chili pepper, aniseed in particular), caramel, nuts, tobacco and herbaceous notes of black tea and flowers. A nose you can breathe in for hours. The attack on the palate is magnificent: all the elements of a well-crafted, structured Enmore are present, with a rich aromatic palette and plenty of generosity. Dried fruit and herbaceous notes sit side by side with a dark, spicy side that gives a sensation of warmth and tannins. Dark chocolate, espresso coffee and walnuts add sweetness and bitterness to the palate. The alcohol is superbly well integrated into this rich, contrasting and complex profile. The finish is interminable, sticky on the palate, very refined and slightly bitter. We find dried fruit, plum, characteristic spices (licorice, ans, vanilla), leather, black tea and tobacco notes. Behind a touch of caramel and chocolate lurks a cola influence that's not at all unpleasant. An Enmore for special occasions, for an olfactory and gustatory orgasm of the highest order.

You don't notice that you are drinking alcohol here. Truly a nectar-like drink. Great fun. Perfect balance. Everything you want is there. Superb interplay of aromas, lots to discover without taking too much. Hammer rum!

Awesome 1994 REV. It‘s a benchmark. For me in line with the RA 2020. Alcohol and wood almost perfect integrated. This is just fun in the glass 😍 Nose: delicious, fruity, raisin, prunes, earthy, musty, licorice, oak, leather, spicy, roated almonds Mouth: complex, dry, delicious, full bodied, round, strong, astringend, tannins, plum, prunes, caramel, tobacco, black tea, licorice, oak(barrel), dark chocolate, roasted, vanilla, leather Finish: Long, dry, delicious, warm, tannins, oak(barrel), vanilla, cocoa, licorice, leather, plum, bit minty and black tea

Awesome! Full bodied, heavy, complex and just delicious! A harmony of flavors, wood & alcohol, coming in waves and giving ample room to explore. Highlight of the evening for sure and an outstanding dram //update: still fantastic :)

Really great exciting rev with an intense cassis note and a fine acidity. Dark chocolate, black tea, lots of tannins and astringent. Overall, however, not quite as complex and round as some older bottlings. Balanced but not an overly complex monster.

I got this bottle last week and the 800,- euro were a good investment. I can see that the price is now running up to 1500,- euro and that price doesn't match the quality. A super good rum and if you can get your hands on a sample, go for it, probably the best continental demerara ever!

Outstanding REV. There’s a lot going on in the glass, great flavors be it in the nose or the mouse. I especially like the licorice note.
Review by Rhum Mirror 🇧🇪
The nose is complex and greedy. Sweet, dried, ripe fruits are at the head of the pack. We find oranges, prunes, raisins, dates ... But other fresher fruits are also part of the game: currants and apricots. The whole completed by a nice dose of licorice-vanilla-chocolate that make this olfactory bouquet more than interesting. In the mouth, there is some pep but the alcohol is perfectly integrated. It's less fruity than the nose, but it's very greedy thanks to the caramel and coconut notes. Some woody pushes from the shoulders in the pack and the tobacco.

unfortunately somewhat flat and disappointing to all expectations ...

It's crazy, the things that can happen in a glass... this juice is huge. An aromatic bomb... of great complexity, and full of deliciousness. Happy to taste it, disappointed to have only a sample. It's splendid 🤩😍😍🤩

REV profil je jeden z nejpůsobivějších profilů, které může guyana, potažmo enmore nabídnout. A toto je jeden z jejich vrcholných zástupců. A toto je pro mě dosavadní král. Intenzivní komplexní záležitost! Nádhera!

In the blind comparison has for me just the RA compared to the VM the nose in front!
