Gleann Mor Spirits Company Diamond Aurum No. 4 2002
You might expect a heavy, tarry Demerara from a 17-year Diamond, but this one drinks lighter and fresher than that. Think orchard fruit (pear, apple), citrus and grapefruit, with a licorice/anise thread and a faint medicinal edge. Several tasters call it a young, wild PM. The catch: at 51.8% the alcohol reads a touch bissy and the body feels thin — a couple drops of water helps.

Vertical PM tasting: 89 / 95 /97 / 97 (cognac finish) / 02 / 05 / 13: Nose: Continental fruit basket is very present alongside some sweetness. Palate: nice PM markers. Some citrus-y notes and grapefruit. Nicely balanced. Feels a bit thin (watered down) though.

This one was a nice surprise. A warm fruity and fresh rum with spices and some medicinal notes. Lightly bitter and warm on the palate. Let it rest for at least 15 minutes before sipping and if you like it to open up more add a drop of water or two. Price to quality is very good.

A very good young savage!

Taste clearly a rather young, wild PM. But nice mix of a fruit basket with licorice.

A very delicate rum with mostly roasted/burnt/woody notes in both nose and taste. Another big plus is a relative low price point. Definately worth tasting.

Mouais.

Quite a nice PM, but I like it a little better on the nose than on the palate. There the alcohol (despite the low AbV) is quite biting and generally still a little unround. Perhaps it could have lingered a little longer. A few drops of water really help here (as described by Kevin).

Alcohol poorly integrated. Slightly watered down
