Red fruit tea with a shot. Fits! And the fact that the very rare wood of the wild cherry (Merisier) is used here as a second barrel should be explicitly emphasized once again. When do you ever get that? Update 2024-11-18: Simply an incredibly successful, somehow very characteristic easy sipper at an incredibly good PLV. 47% can be quite powerful! 80 points confirmed in any case. A word about the empty glass, which will no doubt amuse some people, but is meant seriously: Who remembers what it smelled like in the Intershop in GDR times? That's exactly what the empty glass smells like 😉.

Gray's tasting rx9122 vs. Rx14941 vs. Rx7608 The Double Cask Merisier doesn't pick me up too much on the nose and is far too thin on the palate. Clearly the weakest of the three Grays for me

Eher ungewohnte Holzaromen treffen auf verschiedene Beerenfrüchte, Sauerkirschen, Earl Grey Tee und einen Hauch Minze. Ein paar Prozente mehr hätten diesen Rum vermutlich noch auf ein anderes Level gehoben, aber auch mit seiner entspannten Trinkstärke gefällt er mir gut.

Ist auf jeden Fall ein sehr fruchtiges Dingen dieser New Grove. Man kann auf jeden Fall (Sauer)kirsche erkennen hier. Wirklich richtig fruchtig, aber etwas Süße dank Karamell ist bei diesem Rum auch erkennbar.

Red tea punch with backing spices and a lot of wood in the nose. Really nice, balanced and something different. On the palate it is quite strong, the alcohol is not integrated very good and the nose is much more promising. Overall a nice drop but a sample is sufficient and I am looking forward to the next one.

Lange im Regal gestanden Dank der durstigen Community Mal aufgemacht. Gibt sich in der Nase eher floral-blumig mit leichter Süße. Am Gaumen sehr beerig. Hab viel Johannisbeeren hier dazu etwas Holz, das Finish ist wahrnehmbar ohne zu Überfrachten. Gelungene Abfüllung zum guten Kurs erstanden.

Gewürze und viel Holz in der Nase. Wirklich schön, ausgewogen und mal etwas anderes. Am Gaumen ist er recht kräftig, der Alkohol ist nicht sehr gut integriert und die Nase ist viel vielversprechender. Insgesamt ein schöner Tropfen, aber eine Probe reicht aus und ich freue mich schon auf den nächsten.

Danke an Gunnar. Leider ist dieser einer der schwächsten oder gar der schwächste von deinem Mauritius Rums. Der Geschmack erinnert mich an diese künstlichen kleinen Kirschlutscher, die man als Kind im Lotto Laden bekommen hat. Sorry

Also wenn eine Kirsch Apfel Holunder Limo mit etwas Minze ein Rum wäre, wäre es dieser hier. Die 47% sind echt gut gewählt, nicht zu dünn nicht zu wuchtig. Fruchtig, würzig, frisch und intensiv. Das Merisier (Wildkirsche) Fass ist wirklich sehr spannend und bringt frische, sehr fruchtige Noten mit, erinnert an Kirsch Knallbrause, dazu Minze und Baumharz und eine angenehme leichte Süße und Säure.

Fruchtig,süß in der Nase. Sauerkirsche und Brombeer? Schon interessant Fruchtig und süß am Gaumen, ein wenig rauchig. Schon ein interessanter Rum. Mit diesen Rum aus Mauritius macht man nix verkehrt.

Hat mir leider bislang am wenigsten gefallen von allen Grays welche ich bislang im Glas hatte. Rote Früchte und leider zu Süß. Leicht wässriges Mundgefühl und kurzer Abgang. Zumindest das ungewöhnliche Fass macht es interessant ihn mal im Glas gehabt zu haben.

Sehr einladend an der Nase, fruchtig, Marmelade, Johannisbeere, Stachelbeere, dahinter leicht etwas alter Ledersessel. Am Gaumen dann genauso fruchtig, sehr lecker und süffig. Ein leichter Moment von Tictac Wintergreen. Mit etwas mehr Umdrehungen wären die Aromen vielleicht noch etwas eindrucksvoller, aber eigentlich ist die Trinkstärke hier für mich genau passend. Der Abgang is nicht besonders lange, muss er für meinen Geschmack bei diesem Rum auch nicht sein. Für mich wirklich ein ganz toller, fruchtiger Easy Sipper zum Wegschlürfen, der vielleicht nicht so komplex ist wie andere Rum, da er wirklich rund und gelungen ist muss er das für mich aber auch nicht sein. Und das zu diesem Preis!

Ein eher charakterloser Rum, der auf dem Papier mehr versprochen hat. Die Nase ist erst sehr aggressiv und verrät eher spät, was sich noch verbirgt und auch auf der Zunge gehen nicht wirklich Tiefen auf.

Ein sehr leckerer Rum aus Mauritius. Sowohl in der Nase als auch im Geschmack die fruchtigen Gerüche und Aromen zu erkennen. Wobei es eher in Richtung Sauerkirschen geht. Auch Johannisbeeren sind zu erkennen.

Farbe: Leuchtend Kastanie, ölig Geruch: Süß und blumig-fruchtig. Riecht nach tropischen Blüten und Gras, dabei leicht säuerlich. Zudem tropische Frucht-Aromen - Litschi, Kumquat, Orangenblüten, Bergamotte. Im Hintergrund frisches Obstbaumholz und Nuss. Mit der Zeit kommt dann etwas Toffee. Geschmack: Sehr eigenartig … schmeckt vor allem nach Bergamotte. Im Mund zunächst süß. Beim Schlucken dann süß und blumig fruchtig mit Parfüm. Grüne glasierte Maraschino-Kirschen und Zitronat. Abgang: Eigenartig Kurz Blumig-fruchtig, süß, Bergamotte Schwach würzig, exotische Gewürze - Zimt

Fruchtig-frisch-säuerlich-süß in der Nase. Kirsche, aber eher Sauerkirsche mit Brombeere. Geht sogar in Richtung getrocknete Johannisbeere. Leicht mineralisch-erdig und und ein Hauch Rauch. Sehr angenehme Mischung. Intensiv fruchtig-würzig-süß am Gaumen. Hat eine interessante Geschmackskurve von Trauben-süß über rauchig-würzig zu Zitrus-säuerlich-süß-bitter. Vollmundig, 47% passen sehr gut, leicht zu süß aber auf jeden Fall interessant.
