Der war vor einigen Jahren mein erster Rum aus Zuckerrohrsaft. Fand ihn durch das starke Toasting der Cognacfässer deutlich spannender als einen Clement VSOP, den ich danach probiert habe. Insgesamt ist der Alkohol gut eingebunden und er ist trocken, hat aber trotzdem leichte Karamellnoten. Kommt auch mit einer leichten Würze. Bei späteren Verkostungen fand ich ihn dann etwas weniger spektakulär, aber immer noch ein guter Einsteiger für Zuckerrohrsaft Rum.

Sample von der HanseSpirit‘25. ich gebe gerne auch den deutschen Destillen eine Chance. Hatte mal vor einiger Zeit den 5-Jährigen im Glas und fand den nicht schlecht. Gab‘s aber nicht, also hier der einfachere Blend. Nicht aus Melasse, sondern aus eingedicktem Zuckerrohrsaft. Nase: würzig, winterlich, mit Nelke, Ingwer, Backgewürz und fast etwas Wacholder. Dahinter eine deutliche, künstliche Süße von kandierten Früchten. Flacht etwas ab und ist leicht muffig. Nicht ganz so rund wie erhofft. 6,4 Gaumen: Süß-würzig. In Wasser verdünnter Heidehonig mit Veilchen. Leicht salzig mit etwas Kümmel und Schokolade. Hinten wieder Honig mit Dörrpflaume. Insgesamt aber Dünn und kurz. Ich glaube, wenn der mal mit 50+ abgefüllt würde, hätte er ein ganz anderes Potenzial, denn die Heidehonig-Note ist nicht uninteressant. So aber nur Durchschnitt. 6,8

In der Nase Politur und Frucht (Pflaume/Pfirsich). Moderate Süße, Frucht bleibt im Mund und im Abgang. Holzwürze dominiert dann im Mund und bleibt am Gaumen etwas stehen.

Gar nicht so schlecht dieser Rum, hätte ich nicht gedacht. Hat eine sehr würzige und irgendwie winterliche Nase. Am Gaumen ist er dann auch sehr würzig, ich kann hier Pfeffer und Kümmel erkennen. Besser als erwartet.
