TRC Hampden Jamaica C<>H 1990
Poured neat in a tasting glass — this is not a mixer. The nose hits with glue and ester first, then a sweet fruit basket of banana, pineapple and green apple, with light wood and a touch of smoke behind it. The palate turns sourer than the nose promises, and one taster notes the banana lingers "laaaaaaange" on a long, anise-heavy finish. A serious 26-year Hampden C<>H at cask strength.

Very good HD ... for me personally definitely not the best... although very good Hampden. Nice esterwums with a lot of fruit and some wood and slight bitterness. The finish is its strength, the rum and the Anna's banana can be tasted for a loooooong time in the mouth.

I am incredibly grateful to be able to drink this sample. Thank you @ Saibot Ztar. I was hoping the 94 would drop and it would beat the Nobilis 93. But alas, on both the palate and the nose, it's not enough. 92 is still legendary...but I expected even more. In direct comparison with the TRC30 for me on par.

02.04.2020 Had a nice tasting with my friends at a very nice hotel. Notes. Light in colour. Nose: Intense, light wood, banana, fruity, glue, ester. Palate: fresh, light wood, ester, pineapple, medium dry. Fibish: long and warm, fresh, medium dry, roasted wood, banana.

On the nose, the first thing we notice is the typical ester glue note with slight acidity, followed by a very sweet fruit basket with banana, pineapple, green apple and citrus fruits. Wood, some smoke and a slight earthiness round off the nose. The esters from the nose are first noticeable on the palate, although a little more acidic than the nose suggests. The entire nose can be found again on the palate and becomes strongly aniseed-heavy in the finish. It is much stronger and, above all, rounder and more mature than the Duncan Taylor. A little too round for some of us. Nevertheless, a masterpiece of rum. 93 points

I love hampdens, I usually consider the C<>>H brand to be their pinnacle, and this is a different universe. We know that tum cask can be choosy, and here it proves that to be the case. Brutal nose, explosion of flavours and a long-lasting finish.
