Grays New Grove Savoir-Faire Belle Vue 2005
Peach lovers, this one's for you. It leads with ripe peach and grapefruit, backed by caramel, vanilla and a dry, slightly bitter oak that keeps the sweetness in check. A few tasters catch mint, litchi and even red fruit after air. At 45% it reads a touch thin, but it's an easy, fruity Mauritius sipper with real character.

How does Grays New Grove Savoir-Faire Belle Vue 2005 taste?
Aggregated from 51 community reviews.
Fruity peach-and-grapefruit sipper, slightly thin Well-liked as a fruity, peach-forward everyday sipper. Most agree the 45% dilution leaves it a bit thin and the finish turns dry and bitter, but the fruit and value win people over.

Nice fruity and sweet profile. Alcohol integration is not that good in mouth. Still a good rum with its own style 😋

A New Grove with all the characteristics that make a New Grove, albeit on the back burner. In view of the price, the famous red fruitiness and depth are of course not particularly pronounced, and the rum is also a little too weak on the chest and slightly too bitter on the palate for me; but it is and remains a pleasant rum to open the evening or as an easy sipper for in between at a high level.

Still somewhat restrained on the nose, but with a wonderful aromatic power on the palate. Rich mint, vanilla, caramel, tropical fruits, well-dosed wood, plus some spicy and subtly roasted notes - the 45% works excellently here. Grays at an impressive level.

Peach, grapefruit and blood orange served on bitter dry oak. Nice complexity.
Review by Mentalo
Fruity notes of peach and some grapefruit. Slight sweetness and pleasant spicy notes. It lacks a little depth and is slightly too thin overall at 45%. For the price, however, this is still a good bottling from Grays.

Great rum with a twist in the direction of herbs! Price / performance top!

Quoi, personne n’aime les profils New Grove typiques 👀 ?

Super fruity, very inviting nose. The taste is also very fruity with a dominant peach note. Alcohol well integrated, easy sipper. Relatively flat due to the reduction to 45%, but still a delicious rum and good PLV.

Review by crazyforgoodbooze
Typical grapefruit peel aromas as so often with Grays & New Grove, but with a somewhat unusual but nevertheless fitting slight bitterness and smokiness. Aromatically balanced and complex and rather something for advanced drinkers compared to the 10y old Tradition new grove. A little more "demanding" to drink! Could do with a few % more.

Mega fruity nose with lots of peach. On the palate then also bitter orange / grapefruit to earthy notes. Bit like fruit juice with alcohol. Really tasty 😋

Typische New Grove-Geschmack in einer angenehmen Verdünnung

Was curious to try this one, as this the first molasses based rum from Mauritius for me. It's a good and interesting one. Peaches, oranges mixed with significant wood influence, prominent through nuts and herbs. A floral touch as well. Not fully balanced but still interesting enough to keep sipping. Thanks RumTata for sharing a sample.

Excellent. Très fruité. Fruits tropicaux. Manque peut être un peu de longueur.
