South Pacific Plantation Isle of Fiji
Poured neat on a warm day or dropped into a cola, this Fiji leans soft and sweet. You get ripe banana, tropical fruit, a whiff of glue and solvent that hints at the island's ester side, then vanilla and honey smooth it over. Several tasters call it a fine entry to Fiji, though the added sweetness flattens the funk and the finish drops off fast.

Sweet, banana-forward entry into Fiji rum Well-liked as an easy, fruity intro to Fiji rum, but the sweetness divides people — fans of the style say it buries the funk and the finish is short.

Sauber den Zucker eingestellt. So das er nicht zu dominant ist. 16g passen echt gut.

Alkoholisch, etwas flach, wenig Dimensionen. Etwas fruchtig und leicht. Plantation 20XO besser.
Review by Stefan Persson
Overall is the nose unpleasant, palate better than expected and too short finish. The nose is fruity, spicy and smoky with additional smells of glue, alcohol and vanilla. At the palate it tastes like the nose indicated except for alcohol and glue, instead it’s very sweet.

There is something about this rum that swings it off but I can't put my finger on it. The nose promisses a lot that the palate can't finish. Still wondering what tipped this one......

Leichter guter Fiji ohne Schnörkel
Review by Galli33
Mmh… Very thin, diluted, sweet daily sipper. Paired with some nice notes of various fruits. It‘s a good one, for beginners especially, otherwise it‘s more like a daily driver at a very good price level.
Review by LukaŽiga
8:On the nose it is quite punchy and vanilla. Lots and lots of dark treacly molasses notes jump straight out at you, a bit of caramel then. There is a sweeter, more perfumed note but it’s little fierce as well, varnish. After a little time in the glass some fruitier notes arise, fermented, overripe notes, even rotten, canned with passion fruit, banana, ripe pears, plum and some currants. There is a smokiness as well. The nose is really impressive and balanced. 7,8:On the palate the rum is not as powerful as the nose suggested, but is well round. The fruitier notes are not that strong, not overripe, banana is fresh. It has a sweetener note, it is spicy with some baking spices. On the mid palate, we get some punchy and roasted notes of burnt banana, ginger and a honey, minimal bitterness present. 7,3:The finish is medium. It fades quite quickly, is fruity, spice, some overripe notes, a bit dry and acidic, that sweetener note stays. Edit:28.9.25.

Flavors of vanilla, honey, plums and coconuts. Aftertaste of dried bananas and bourbon spices.

Review by Rumpalumpa
A Fiji rum from Plantation that follows the typical profile of this island, with fruity esters in the foreground. However, the cognac cask also makes it quite mild and vanilla-like. Also slightly sweetened, of course.
Review by Jarrod Smith
Vanilla, fruits, toasted coconut. Sweet fruits on the front and dry spices with nutty vanilla on the finish. Big flavors. Excellent rum.
Review by Skyfly

Edit : took down my original rating a bit. From 73 to 70. Although i'm not the biggest lover of Jamaican rums, this one goes a tiny bit in the same direction but way less funky. Not bad at all. It's fruity and very easy to drink. Finish is a bit too short tho 🤷♂️
Review by w00tAN
Beautiful nose, but in the mouth then dominates mainly the sweetness. Honey and vanilla give each other the hand especially in the finish then but rather tangy with medium-long finish. Drinkable for beginners or as a simple sipper, but more should not be expected
Review by Necron
Very powerful scent and strong alcoholic taste. Cannot say that it is a good rum since the overpowering alcohol taste removes most of the pleasure from the rest of the flavours. If you do like the strong alcoholic taste, then by all means go for it - Myself, I prefer to have a sweet taste without a burn in my throat.
Review by Godspeed
This is a mixed tropical and continental aged column still rum that I was pleasantly surprised by. Had I not looked it up I would've sworn this had at least some pot still in it, but I guess the Cognac casks just worked their magic. Tropical flavors for days, sweet and inviting, the kind of rum I'd put in front of just about anyone and they'd very likely enjoy it. It lacks the complexity to fly high but at 3 years aging and this price I'm not going to hold that against it. Would use in cocktails especially if I wanted a slightly sweet note to whatever I was making.
Review by rum_sk
Really surprising as it was quite similar to Jamaican rum, a bit of esters and smell and taste reminded me of a home made booze made of various fruits such as plums. Not bad, very surprising though. Retasted and I agree with previous take, very similar to Jamaican rum and I like that.

Wonderful on the nose, unfortunetally weak in flavour

Light Fiji. Nice mixer.

Quite sweet rum... but pleasant to drink. Tastes better than it smells. Honey, vanilla and plum... slightly coconut. Pretty good for the price.
Review by Mark Leggett
Aromas of caramel, spice and hogo. Flavor of barrel, spice, caramel and hints of dried fruit. Was expecting more tropical fruit that I'm not getting
Review by Cédric Meyers
Review by Montana
Review by Schnapsschuesse

The nose is amazing. Overripe bananas and a trace of varnish or solvent. I get the impression of a crate of bananas forgotten in a dark corner of a dive shop. Taste is similar with fried banana, buttery smoothness. Slightly musty. Almost too sweet but it’s balanced pretty well.
Review by Decky Hicks Doughty
The nose reminds me of a mid to high ester Jamaican in many ways. Lots of gluey solvent notes, heavy on the banana and floral notes. A touch sharp. The palate is not as floral and the nose let's on. Some honey, still lots of solvents. A touch of smoke on the back end. The finish is very short. But pleasant in its tropical flavours. Honey and coconut mainly. Overall not a bad rum. Works well sipped neat on a hot day.

Its a pleasant, sweet and fruity rum. I enjoyed it but won’t buy a whole bottle of it.

Actually nothing wrong with this rum. Tasted blind and was shocked to find out it was a Fiji. Has absolutely nothing recognisable as the wonderful characteristics of SPD. Super generic, soft/flabby & sweet. Relatively well balanced with some dried fruit Caramel toffee and hints of barrel spice, but again all very generic.

Very sweet. Marshmallow and honey flavours. Not dynamic.

Review by epicsune 🇸🇪
Has that special nose and palate that a pot still rum has. Picking up some dried fruits and pear as first impressions. Palate delivers more dried fruits and a sharp alcoholic taste. A good rum from plantation but not one of my favourites.

Lekkere basic Fiji rum.

Review by M@xiM
Aroma: sweet herbal aroma, very spicy, some vegetable tomato notes, Jamaican flavors of rotten fruit. Taste: sweet, spicy, very fruity, the barrel is in place, despite the fact that these alcohols with a Feeder are very similar to Plantation Jamaica 2002. The aftertaste remains sweet, barrel and fruity Jamaican funk and it is quite long. In general, a very decent budget release from Plantation, blindly I would definitely say that this is Jamaica. We need more rums from Fiji, a wonderful island.

This is a different island to obtain rum from . In a online tasting session the plantation rep went on to say that the island will now exclusively sell only to plantation ..... The actual rum is quite dry but sweet with dried fruit notes . You can see the Jamaican style production notes in the sampling at the start of the pallete and towards the end the sugar takes over

Vanilla, caramel, coconut. Very light barrel. Pours golden, but pretty light. Just OK--sits somewhere between average Hispanic rums with a hint of Barbados (though probably not enough. This is my first Fijian rum and I was hoping for a little more personality. Short finish. Had in a flight at Casta's. 6.6
