Cadenhead‘s Port Mourant PDW 1972

"A lovely melange of fresh wood shavings and paint," is how one taster opens, and that captures this old Port Mourant well. Lemon shortbread, biscuit and bright fruit sit on top of a freshly varnished table, with a whiff of old workshop at the end. Lighter and more floral than you'd expect from 30 years — restrained, mature, well balanced. At 53% the alcohol stays young but well integrated.

This is an older tasting and I have the following notes. Light in colour with nice floral and fruity notes. A light profile compared to other similar releases but complex and well balanced.

A lovely melange of fresh shavings of wood and paint, young alcohol and lemon shortbread gives a very mature but restraining elegance in the nose. It continues to deliver tat mix of bright fruit and lemon baked into a shortbread sat on top of a freshly varnished table. a hint of old workshop adds itself to the end. Very nice!
