Cane Island Nicaragua
Sip it neat and you get plenty of American oak, vanilla and a spicy woodiness, with orange peel and a little chocolate underneath. Several members reach for it in cola too, and it works there. A few pick up solvent or "Benzin" on the nose, and the finish runs short to medium. Bourbon drinkers and Zacapa fans tend to feel right at home with this Spanish-style Nicaraguan.

Very interesting distilat. It is different in nose, taste and finish. I was surprised how it changed its taste within the tasting. You can feel so many things but it would definitely change your thoughts with every new sip. Really recommmend for trying and meet Nicaragua rums.

Really impressively delicious, complex Nicaragua rum. Nice daily sipper. I like it surprisingly well. Especially this combination of caramelized coconut, tangerine and dark chocolate with vanilla and light tannins is really fun! A positive surprise.

This is a delightful drop for the age ... Not amazing which is why it only scores an 8. Woody , smoky lovely flavour ... A touch wetter than a dry Cuban rum but still full of depth ...couldn't distinguish this between the 12 flor de Cana de Cana (I know the flor de Cana only has a drop of 12 in it ) ... This might explain the smokiness and woodyness

Of the entire Cane Island series, I think for me this is the tastiest. Also recommend him to friends and I always get positive feedback. Delicious pure but also delicious in cola. good price-quality ratio.

31.07.2021 A nice tasting held by a bygone spirits shop. Notes Medium to dark in colour. Nose Round, wood, fruity, light varnish, light roasted, coconut. Palate Light, complex, wood, roasted, orange, coconut, raisin, faint chocolate, light mint. Finish Medium long, fresh, wood, tannins, orange, faint nougat. Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while to release all of its flavours.

Have been lacking behind with the 1423 calendar from 2023, but here we go! In the nose it has a sweetness and oak scent, and in the notes I got vanilla, tobacco and oak. Lingering and medium aftertaste

Wow, ein sehr erwachsener Rum. Kraftvolle, intensiv fruchtige Nase mit leider schnell verfliegenden Ester- und Lösemitteleindrücken. Am Gaumen reich und kräftig mit allem, was 12 Jahre Fassreifung mitbringen. Entwickelt sich auch noch mal im Abgang von kurz bis mittel. Sehr solider Sonntags-Sipper, zu schade zum Mixen. Ich freue mich, den probiert zu haben – gerne wieder.

We know Nicaragua can make good juice. Lots of american oak in this one thus very bourbonny. Yes good Am. Oak ripened Spanish style rum. Seriously nothing wrong with this. Nothing surprising but well made. The classic flavours are here. Some orange. One of the best fron the calendar so far.

Reminds me of a Venezuelan or a Guatemalan rum, both on the nose and palate. Mostly woody and chocolate with sweet tones of vanilla all over the palate with a drop of raisins. It states full 12 years in the barrel, no solera but it surely does remind me of Zacapa. Nonetheless a nice sweet spanish type rum with surprisingly medium to long finish.

Schöne Nase zum Start! Viel Karamell, reifes Obst, ölige Orange, ein Hauch Rauch gegenüber deutlich Kleber/Lösungsmittel. Am Gaumen süß vs. chemisch in gut. Pfeffer und Tannine im Mittelpart, gefolgt von würziger Bittere. Insgesamt recht ausgewogen.

Sample no.5 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2023. Caramel and vanilla with a hint of orange peel and tropical fruits. Also some vague solvents from the alcohol on the nose. Same sweet tropical fruits on the palate. Orange and wood from the barrel.
