Licorera Cihuatán Obsidiana
Candied orange, macadamia and a nutty, spiced warmth run through this El Salvador rum, with vanilla and dark chocolate showing up alongside a lingering sugary sweetness. Several tasters find it rounder and woodier than Cihuatán's Indigo, with more roasted, spicy character. A few call it too sweetened for their taste, but most land on a pleasant, easy pour that leans dessert-ish.

Woodier and somewhat fruitier on the nose than the Indigo. The chocolate aromas are roastier and darker. Vanilla, citrus, lots of barrel. The interplay of milk chocolate and fruit on the palate. Nuttier and spicier than the Indigo, not as ripe as the Cinabrio. Quaffable, but not as round as the rest of the range.

A surprise in a glass. On a fun evening. Red fruits, especially cherry and menthol on the nose and palate. Intermittent coffee notes, which then merge back into the fruity cherry. Greetings to the children of the 90s - my association: the red throat dragons (still without sugar coating). ;)

Beetje apart, kan het moeilijk thuisbrengen. Ruikt fruitiger dan het smaakt maar wel een interessant profiel. In de afdronk blijft vooral een suikerige zoetheid achter. Laat zich vlot drinken.
