Levy Lane Tamosi Rum Port Cask
Cherry, raisin and a whisper of acetone sit on top of oak and pepper here — a Barbados/Jamaica blend finished in port cask. The Jamaican share adds a bit of funk and ester without taking over, and the port shows as dark fruit rather than heavy cassis. Several tasters call it round and balanced; one honestly notes it "lacks a bit of depth."

Blends don't really get better than this. Nice mixture of spirits with just enough Jamaica funk. The port influence is well balanced and not overly cassis. A hint of sulphur. Tannins in balance too. Tamosi up until now is all killer no filler. Probably my favourite new rum bottler. Price/quality ratio is great.

Nose of acetone , rum ,slight honey , Small bit of oak . 2nd nosing canned peaches in the background 1st tasting front palletter Oranges , more acetone , FUNK Mid pallete Oak and Jamaican heaven Finish Goes on for a long time , more fruity notes with high powered finish of rum

Very tasty and round blend from tamosi. Barbados and Jamaica provide a beautiful harmony of spices, dark chocolate and fully ripe fruits such as banana, raisin and cherry. The proportion of high ester Jamaica rum gives the necessary funk & kick of ester without coming too much to the fore and the port finish is also recognizable but not too dominant. A very round thing! Elegant, complex and balanced. A positive surprise!
