The nose is very pastry-like, with caramel and especially dark chocolate, and the ex-marsala cask is also clearly present. Despite this greediness, there is a strong whiff of alcohol at times. After opening, incense and waxed wood take over, as Manou notes, "it smells of church..."😆. On the palate, it's round, but not overly so: spices and wood lift the whole. As on the nose, we oscillate between the very pleasant round/gourmand side and a slightly less pleasant alcoholic side. The finish is spicy. Conclusion: nice greedy nose, and chocolate nose/mouth very nice but too spicy final impression. Alcohol not well integrated.
