Enmore Rum Artesanal Guyana Rum REV 1994
Made for people already deep into old Demerara: this 27-year Enmore REV runs herbal and woody, with dried plum, leather, licorice and dark chocolate. The 53.1% sits so well most tasters barely notice it. The recurring catch is the herbal streak — a few find it too much, one even calls it eucalyptus and juniper — but plenty rate it a top '94 REV.

How does Enmore Rum Artesanal Guyana Rum REV 1994 taste?
Aggregated from 79 community reviews.
Deep, herbal old Enmore for sipping Widely loved as a deep, complex 1994 REV — plum, leather, licorice, oak, with beautifully integrated alcohol. The one repeated gripe: a strong herbal note some find too much or slightly bitter.

Very good Enmore REV. (more or less the same smells and tastes as the 2020 version) Leather, tobacco, black tea, wood, dried fruits on the nose. Complex and delicious on the palate, where you’ll find all the previous flavours. The finish is medium-long, dry, and very elegant. The alcohol isn’t as well integrated as in the 2020 version. 3rd place in my Enmore tasting!

Clearly recognizable and typical 1994 REV profile. Nice plum, herbs and wood. I liked the 1st Artesanal bottling slightly better. Overall in the solid midfield, compared to other REVs of the same vintage.

Not my world at all, especially the leather flavor.

REV meets herbal tea...the marque remains recognizable, but rather exceptional green notes come to the fore. Dry plum, wood and spice give a rendezvous with herbs, tea and light tobacco hints. Very exciting profile, but due to the green notes in my subjective rating not quite in front in the 1994 REV environment.
Review by Christoph
Great increase to the last REV bottling. Immensely well integrated alcohol that rubs all the flavors around the palate. Beautiful reddish color. Fresh herbs, pleasant fruit (plum), pure oak from nose to finish simply delicious.
Review by Oliver
Great REV profile. However, due to the strong herbal note one point behind the first release.

Review by lukasdrinkinghabits
Nose is already very woody but there is still some herbaceous freshness. In the mouth then very woody, astringent, from the fresh herbs has remained only some tobacco. Then comes the all overlaying, intense licorice note that remains in the mouth for minutes. I don't like licorice 🤷♂️ Clearly too woody for my tasteRusty together with the two RA 2004 and the SBS 2006. This 1994 REV falls a bit off the grid, on one hand the herbaceousness of the 2004, on the other the dried fruit from the 2006. For me, it's all the same marrow, even if this one has a special position thanks to its age and lots of wood.

Same nose like in my old grandgrandparent joiner room (voni jak tesarska kalafuna) ... Enmore - drive destilerka, nyni uz jen funkcni destilacni zarizeni. Rumy Enmore totiz maji prichut popelu, kuze, tezkeho dreva, coz nadchne zejmena milovniky nakourenych whisky. A pokud tradicnim Guyanskym zpusobem prida vyrobce do rumu trochu melasy, mate v lahvi unikatni velmi vyrazny a tezky rum. Jeden z mych oblibenych.

Typical Versailles profile but very well balanced between bitterness (cofee, wood, dark chocolate) and sweetness (dried fruits, liquorice). A solid release from Rum Artesanal 💪
Review by DomM
Amazing nose leaning more towards the herbal side of ‘94 REVs. Also comparably very intense.
Review by Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰
I have started on bottle number two :-) A great rum with a flavour profile literally jumping you from the glass once poured. Very fruity from nose to finish with roasted oak to it. Only slightly dry which only compliments the profile. A great rum even considering the price.
Review by TheRhumhoe
A fantastic Enmore that shows its ageing potential and complexity. The nose displays aromas of dried fruits, plums and red berries, before giving way to notes of herbs, spices, dark, empyreumatic notes of roasted nuts, tobacco and coffee. Leather and floral notes complete this perfectly balanced profile. Intense, warm attack on the palate with spices and pepper, roasted notes, tobacco, wood, cocoa and nuts, still with dried fruit and plum, grassy and floral notes. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. The extremely long finish continues the same profile, with a hint of bitterness and freshness. An enchanting rum, delivering a formidable olfactory and gustatory experience.

Merci Chris!

Nice long-bodied rum. Intense sherry tones. The taste of dried plum is long-lasting clean and permanently underlines the whole rum

What a rum... it is there from the first moment immediately!!! Wonderfully complex and just delicious

from the 10GRF RA Tasting Set...Great Enmore REV!
Review by Frank
Beguiling fragrance in the room, wonderful! Nose: woody, spicy and fruity. Intense and complex, not closed. The fruitiness is reminiscent of ripe blood orange with some cherry and cassis. There is something caramelly, resinous and leathery. Slight wood acidity with a hint of menthol. In direct comparison, the old REV seems a little more caramelly, otherwise difficult to distinguish... Palate: dark, roasty, spicy and woody. Salty-bitter at first, then woody acidity, intense and complex. Behind it nutmeg with prunes. Heavily toasted with hazelnut. The old one seems more balanced. TOP!
Review by MarcT
Oh, nice. This is intense, and despite the small sample I take my time here. This starts with a very inviting nose, very fruity (plum) and also lots of wood. Old, dusty wood. The palate changes as the Rum goes forward, first little bit of fruity sweetness, then more herbal and in the aftertaste it becomes very wood influenced (but not bitter!) with some licorice, and I get something I rarely taste: leather. The ABV is also barely noticeable. A great Rum, one should make sure to give it attention.

Crosstasting 2025 - Guyana REV 1994 Vintage After ten tastings, we can say that you can't go wrong with REV 1994. The vintage stands for consistently high quality and is a real flagship for Guyana rum. Versatile, deep and full of character. The basic markers (plum, leather, licorice, dark chocolate and black tea) can be found in varying degrees in all bottlings. Conclusion: The REV 1994 vintage shows the range of Demerara rum: from creamy-sweet to smoky-roasted to complex-dry. Despite the different styles of the bottlers, the core remains clearly recognizable. An outstanding year that demonstrates great class. However, the tasting was challenging, as the roasted aromas dominated the bouquet over time and I had to take breaks to appreciate the subtle differences. Artesanal REV 1994 Herbal at first, then round and harmonious. All components seem well integrated, the alcohol perfectly integrated. Long finish, cleanly processed. A slightly solvent-like note, almost like the addition of propane gas, detracts somewhat from the overall impression.

Review by Lukas Jäger

Fabulous rum, Nose: “dirty” and welcoming: gourmand with a hint of medicinal and fresh Mouth: slightly bitter, with a dark thick chocolate Final: quite long
Review by Piotr Ignasiak
Great rum, with a smoky dried plum and tons of herbs. Very well integrated alcohol. I should compare it with another '94 REV. Thanks drDjango for the same.
Review by Alex1981
Great REV94! A bit rougher, more complex than the batch brother
Review by Harald
Review by FischeJ
Spitzen REV
Review by Marcel
Kräftig und komplex. Der Alkohol ist perfekt integriert. Ich liebe das REV Profil 🤤
Review by Frederik
Review by Mr. Stups

Complex and powerful on the nose and palate. Prune, herbs, spices and strong barrel aromas alternate. The alcohol is wonderfully integrated. We really enjoyed it. Great rum that is really fun!
