MHOBA Strand 151 2019

"Hammerstoff!" is how one member sums it up, and that's the mood — a 75.5% MHOBA that hits like a wall. Nail polish, vergorene fruit and fresh sugar cane leap out before you even lower your nose. The palate runs raw, grassy and hot, with banana and a caramel-candy note underneath. A drop of water tames it and coaxes out more sweetness. Wild, uncompromising cane spirit.

First impression on the nose: really brute! Fermented fruit like HD, plus chemical notes, vanilla, cloves and the apple cider vinegar that I've already detected in other MHOBAs. The ABV is present but not pungent! On the palate it burns quite a bit. With a drop of water, it becomes much more pleasant, with a pleasant hint of caramel on both the nose and the palate. -note is added.

A crass, intense taste of caramel candy and the typical overripe mhoba aromas of bacon, banana and overripe fruit and a little salty olive. Alcohol is very well integrated!

Deliciously tasty and for the price. Insane. A little less complex and intense than the plastic but still very good.

I feel that this Mhoba has the most pure interpretation of fresh sugar cane. It’s really heavy and intense, with grassy qualities. Some banana and caramel lingers on. Wild stuff, definitely not for the faint of heart.

Recommendation: do not immediately hold the nose in glass after removing the lid.😆 Lies somehow between Jamaica and Savanna, as far as the nose is concerned. On the palate very intense, after overripe, almost fermented fruit, coupled with varnish and spicy barrel. The alcohol is clearly noticeable, but no wonder with the amount 😀😈
