TRC Hampden Jamaica JMH <>H 2001
"Hampden in top form," as one taster put it — grilled pineapple, ripe banana, mango and citrus wrapped in well-integrated oak. The nose runs milder than you'd expect from a <>H, but the palate turns creamy and intense, all funky esters and tropical fruit. At 61.2% the alcohol is mostly tucked in, though a couple of members felt it poked through.

This TRC is significantly more complex than its older brother. The nose is not quite as beguiling, but the fruit, wood and spice harmonize perfectly on the palate. That's how it should be 🤩. The finish is long and intense. A very good 2001 Hampden Re-tasting at Dr. Django: My rating remains unchanged

This truly is a diamond in the rough. Once rested it is really fruity with esters and nice wood. The palate is both intense and balanced and the ABV is well integrated. The empty glass is absolutely amazing.

Wow, Hampden in top form! Everything comes together here: Tropical fruit, funky esters, great creaminess and pleasant sweetness. Excellent Hampden from 2001!
Review by Jakob
Exquisite representative of Hampden's 2001 vintage. Great balance of fruity freshness, tart wood and spice notes, and filigree sweetness. Excellent.
Review by Leo Krüper
Intense. Softer towards the finish. Great drinking experience.

Was ist passiert??

great marrow. I like this as well as tropically matured. The barrel comes through well for its 18 years.
Review by Banana Joe

... Hampden, legendarni jamajska destilerka, ktera krome rumu produkuje take alkohol do parfemu. Ve vsech rumech z teto destilerky ucitite divoke estery, po kterych cely vas organizmus nasakne vuni zluteho tropickeho ovoce - manga, papaji, anansu, broskvi. Jeden z rumu, ktere "must try before die"
Review by Buddudharma

Oh that is the good old times, if there were any for <>H. A very classical heavy jamaica note of tropical fruit, pineapple and mango. all in glory with ester and deep wood complexities. I really miss these qualities.
