Rum Nation Port Mourant Small Batch Rare Rums 1999
Leather, coffee and dark dried fruit lead here, with that classic Port Mourant weight and a licorice-anise edge. The sherry finish sits on top — most tasters find it well woven in, though a couple call it a touch too bitter and roasty late. Give it 15 minutes to open and the medicinal, herbal side comes out. Dense, dry and full-bodied, not sweet despite the sherry.

Heavy, dry Port Mourant with sherry finish Well-liked heavy PM with a nicely integrated sherry finish. A few feel the finish runs too dominant — bitter and roasty at the end — but most call it mellow and balanced.

Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 This is a retaste and I still like it a lot. Very mellow and well balanced. ------------------- This is a nice Port Mourant and I like the heavy nose with a lot of flavours being released after 15+ minutes of rest. Ester, coffee and herbs moving towards a medicinal nose. The palate is also kind of heavy with a floral touch, fruits and leather follows and still has a medicinal note. The finish is long and warm and you can clearly taste the sherry from the 5 year sherry cask finish.

here the finish is too dominant for me personally, a little too bitter and toasty in the finish. in the overall bouquet an exciting rum but a few months finish less would have done the rum certainly better...
