DDL El Dorado 3
Vanilla, coconut and burnt sugar sit on a light, silky white rum from DDL in Guyana. Most tasters call it a mixing bottle first — the alcohol pokes through even at 40%, and citrus dominates the nose. A few sip it neat and find it creamy and mild, but the room clearly agrees: it shines in a daiquiri or mojito.

I have no idea how to explain taste. But this is good in a daiquiri

A muted nose, where you pick up vanilla, coconut, brown sugar, amongst the alcohol. The flavors are great (coconut, crème brule, vanilla) but the alcohol comes through quite strongly even at 80 proof. If the alcohol was integrated better, this would be incredible.

The nose reminds me of a lemon flavoured nougat from an old sweet shop. A bit of roasted coffee notes linger in the background. The palate takes a different direction. Milk chocolate and vanilla are most at play here. Some woody barrel notes are also present. The finish is of a medium length and is very subtle but pleasant. The chocolate taste becomes a darker cocoa and some spice joins in. Overall, I think I prefer this so some of the El Dorado range with more age. I think you'd have to go up to the 12 year old to get better from them.

Schöner Rum zum Mixen. Besser als der etwas teurere 5 Jährige. In dieser Preisklasse ziehe ich jedoch den Plantation 3 Stars vor

Decent Daiquiri rum
Review by daiquiri_lab
Its relatively light and has a bit of an alcoholic bite, but it also gives a lot of relatively rich burnt sugar flavors for the price, although it's a bit more expensive than most "well" products. I does make a very respectable daiquiri, where it gives a reasonable body and roundness but mainly showcases lime.

Tried this one as a sample in the mall today and I think it's better in a mixer than pure.

A rather sweet smell, sugar and vanilla. The taste also shows the vanilla, some spice and sugar.

Basic with a hint of sweetness. I bought this to see if DDL can make a delicious 'white' rum. It's not bad, but it's not very impressive. This is a mixer. I won't rebuy.

Schöner, ungesüßter Tropfen. Könnte etwas mehr Körper haben. Dann doch lieber Planteray 3 Stars oder Veritas
Review by Rummiamo
Without infamy or praise, it is a good base for daiquiris and other drinks but does not go beyond that. Too bad because its origin could give much much more. On a curious note, I once paired it with a single origin Madagascar chocolate from Amedei and it worked great

Way better than cruzan aged light. Silky while not being overly complex
