Vanilla, coconut, raisin and warm caramel on the nose, then baking spice, dried fruit and toasted oak, with a port-cask backbone that adds red fruit without taking over. The lower 51% makes the alcohol sit quietly. Dry, woody finish. Classic Bajan Foursquare, easy to like.

Leckere Nase nach Vanille, Zimt, Karamell, Schokolade und harmonische Früchte wie Banane, Rosine (rote Früchte) und Kokosnuss. Im Mund durch das etwas geringere ABV mild süßlich nach Karamell, trotzdem natürlich etwas pfeffrig, getoastet und viele Gewürze. Frucht auch vorhanden, welche im Abgang von bitterer Schokolade und röstigem Karamell überlagert wird. Top Rum mit zurückhaltendem Portfinish, damals zu einem sehr guten Preis, heute aber schwer noch zu bekommen.

In comparison with Foursquare ECS, it doesn't really catch my attention. For me, the nose is still ahead of the palate. It's almost a little thin there and the port barrel is too dominant on the finish. Still a little young overall. Not much fun - for me at least.

8,6:On the nose, the first impression is immediately expressed in the form of a veil of solvent.The wood is full of all its aromas of grilled and caramelized nuts, cinnamon and roasting.There are bourbon yellow fruits like apricot, perhaps peach jam, which sticks and coats the nostrils. On aeration, the oak is tender with vanilla, toasted coconut, tobacco and sweet caramel, soft and buttery, very pleasant. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is supple from the start, delicious and balanced.The wood then releases notes like spicy oak, toasted coconut and fatty, buttery butterscotch and roasted nuts with gourmet caramel, the fruits are bourbon yellow, dried, the molasses a bit vegetal... 8,7:The finish is long, dry and woody, with all the notes from palate lingering on for a while and some red fruits from port ageing, strong prunes... 25.11.2025 Retasting this one while watching Immortals. Still like it a lot. ---------- We also dived into this one yesterday and I ended up getting a bit tipsy because we had to double sample this one as well :-) The nose i is nice and fruity with vanilla and some barrel, in the back i get cinnamon, and coconut. The palate is also fruity and drizzled with spices. Then comes toasted oak and some burnt sugar. The finish is long and warm, slightly dry with vanilla and wonderful oak.

A particularly tasty Foursquare. The nose offers a radiant bouquet of dried and tropical fruits (coconut, banana, pineapple, raisins and raisins) that oscillates with sweet spices, caramel and chocolate. On the palate, grapes and port come first, followed by a beautiful palette of spices and toasty, woody and warm flavors. The finish is long and just as elegant, warm and balanced as the rest. A mastered and greedy Foursquare.

A full, sustained nose, especially compared with the Sagacity. Fruity too, with a dirty edge that gives depth to the aromas. The palate is a little diluted, which is a pity. Yet it remains quite lively. The finish has good length, with a few dirty edges. The empty glass offers fruit and pastry. A fine Foursquare, expressive and fruity. The alcohol could be a little better integrated, but this is already a top-notch rum.

Edit: aus der frischen Flasche nochmals probiert, gefällt mir viel besser als ich ihn Erinnerung hatte. Auch als Mixer ist er echt gut. Nach oben korrigiert Alles in allem ein typischer Foursquare. Nichts besonderes. Es gibt weitaus bessere ESCs. Dieser ist für mich eher ein Daily.

Interestingly this is the biggest miss to my palatte of all the Foursquare ECS I have tried. Still in any rationale sense a high quality and well composed rum but I have never quite got along with it. The nose is light but rather pleasant, nothing too complex but with wood, bourbon and some fruit at the edges. The mouth has an astringent edge, chocolate and spice with some barrel influence (not oak) and mace on the spice side. The finish is lightly spicy and dry, but lacks complexity and ends with a long wood and leather finish that lingers almost too long. It’s on the challenging side for my palate and try as I may not a rum I love

Wieder eine sehr schöne Nase, Vanille, Karamell und Holz. Am Gaumen dann auch eine leichte Süsse, gebrannten Zucker kommt hier nich zusätzlich ins Spiel. Außerdem ist er sehr würzig. Der Abgang sehr lang, hier überwiegt dann das Portweinfass.

One tastes in the finish the part that was stored in the port wine barrel. As usual, a Barbados rum of a high quality. Highly recommended even if it could be a bit more complex, it is still a nice sipper.

I had this several times, and always problems to get a good nosing. I really like the taste, however. One really gets the port influence, but it does not overpower the rum itself.

Kleine Reihenverkostung des RX2192, des RX7623 und des RX7158. Insgesamt landet der 7158 auf dem ersten Platz. Alle haben ein sehr ähnliches Profil. Alle sehr gefällig. Mir gelingt es aber nicht, sieht man vom ABV ab und der unterschiedlichen Intenistät echte Ausreisser in der Qualität zu benennen.

Bottlekill, wie bei fast allen Abfüllungen mit Vorbelegung durch „Wein“ im weitesten Sinne, ausgenommen Madeira, war der letzte Dram der leckerste. Die Flasche war knapp über 2 Jahre offen und oxidierte hervorragend. Tolles und fruchtiges Foursquare-Profil, sehr elegant und etwas für die Sinne.

It's a rum that will be appreciated especially by Romanians who are fed up with sugar and are looking for a smooth, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. First taste was in Tokyo 2024 and now, i finally got the bottle. On the nose: Vanilla forward. Coconut. On the sweeter side, but nice, round and fruity. After the rum has been sittin in the glass for a while the burnt sugar notes come in. Taste: Alcohol has been integrated well and its giving a body to the taste but not a intense rum at all. Vanilla, raisin, burn sugar and fruits. Barrel influence is there, sweeter side but in form of spices and fruits. Finish: medium-long finish. Very Dry and woody but still quite warm after a quite sweet and fruity taste. I would call this a good entry to Foursquare ECS series due to abv and its easily approcable taste profile. Its on the sweeter side, but not one note taste profile at all and the dry finish makes this rum a good experience for me

Great Foursquare. I think I'd buy a bottle right away at the RRP. Unfortunately I missed it. The port cask really comes into its own here. A great rum to enjoy.

Astoundingly good for a $60 rum. A warm nose with some banana and coconut (a first for me from a Foursquare), along with the classic oak and vanilla of a Bajan, and a hint of sourdough bread. On the palate it hews a little closer to the standard ECS profile: baking spices and oak. The most surprising detail on the palate is a slight hint of passion fruit. The finish is satisfying and massively chocolatey. This rum continues to unfold overtime and gives a compelling bouquet of different notes. Ranks among my favorite ECS.

This is such a drinkable rum. The fruit and sweet notes are not overpowered by the oakiness. The port gives it a nice finish. The strength doesn't give it too much of a burn. Drinking this neat, it goes down so smoothly. Putting it on a whiskey ball would be dangerous!

Very ripe galia melon, dried fig and raisin in the nose. In the taste more typical column still notes like vanilla sugar, tonic and lime are added. The finish goes to the stickier side again. A very good one

Classic Foursquare profile, nothing wrong with it. Vanilla, spices, tropical fruits,... The addition of ex-port maturation is nice but not overwhelming. The ABV is pleasant, but water opens up both the aroma and the palate.

First ever "proper" rum tasted and, as a whisky drinker, I can see why many in my circle recommend Foursquare amongst others... A jammy yet caramel like rum - definitely different from a whisky, more sweetness from it than my palate is normally used to with Scotch however it's fantastic... Whatever port casks were used have done a good job providing another layer of flavour and complexity to this blend Would definitely recommend and buy!

I can tell just from the smell that this one is going to be another banger. Lemon, raspberry, sour plum, tangy apricot and maybe cinnamon, as some mentioned. The aroma on this is super fruity. Oak. More oak on the taste, which isnt quite as exciting as the smell initially promises. There is more lemon and some green peppercorn on the end. Finish is mostly bitter with just a small bit of sweetness. Less caramel than many Foursquare offerings. Pours dark golden. Sample thanks to Yaro.
