This old Bielle agricole leans dark and complex: pastry and brown sugar on the nose, then nutmeg, pepper, licorice and fine oak, with dried apricot and hazelnut trailing a very long finish. It needs air and a warm room to open, and several say the last sip is the best.

A favorite distillery (Bielle) and a favorite IB (Chantal Comte). The only Bielle in the RumX database that was bottled before 2000. Key data that invite you to dream.😍 A very fine, fragile nose. Extremely complex. Solvent at the beginning, then pastry, slightly nutty. Slightly animal and the finest wood spice. The 58% is hidden, would rather guess 43%. Wonderful in the mouth. Full, warm, now very spicy and the finest oak. The finish is awesome. First dried apricot and then plenty of pepper. Then pastry and spice, it could be longer. Reminds me of a Liberation chiseled with Neissonian elegance. An absolute highlight 😍😍😍😍Every mm is a pleasure.

An extremely rare unicorn that is just as fascinating to taste. The nose is unbelievably gourmand: buttery, pastry-like notes flood the nostrils (gingerbread, brioche, cookie, caramel cream, toffee, brown sugar), followed by chocolate, hazelnut, sweet spices (vanilla, nutmeg), a light woodiness and subtle toasty notes. Exotic fruits join in the olfactory dance, making this rum a veritable nasal orgasm. The attack on the palate is expressive yet delicate. Spices first flex their muscles (pepper, ginger, licorice) before roasted, woody notes, hazelnuts and milk chocolate take over. Exotic fruits also take their place in this aromatic deluge. The alcohol is perfectly integrated and the creamy texture makes it even more drinkable. An extremely well-balanced, deep and delicate rum. The finish, even more shimmering, goes on and on. Tobacco and spices bring a comforting warmth to the palate, before a surprising saline note appears. Hazelnut, chocolate and coffee add gourmandise, while dried and exotic fruits develop a finish that tends towards the freshness of eucalyptus. It's a real privilege to have tasted such a monument, the like of which we won't see again any time soon.

#4536 11.01.2024 My palate is back to normal and actually hyper sensitive at the moment. Preparing for the tasting we have tomorrow. Wow, this is a very nice Bielle. Overall super good balance and nice intensity. I really like the mixture of flavours in the profile and the super long finish. There is a faint licorice note in the profile. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some sugarcane dried fruit.
