Savanna The Wild Island Edition - Lave 2003
Poured neat in a tasting glass is really the only way to meet this one — at 66.5% it's a full-throttle Savanna Grand Arôme. Expect overripe strawberry, sour cherry, dried fruit and heavy ester funk (glue, nail polish, solvent) wrapped in unusually loud oak. Several tasters call the wood "un poil astringent," but almost everyone agrees the fruit and heat carry it.
The community says- Overripe red fruit
- Heavy ester funk
- But: Very oak-forward

Intense, fruity Grand Arôme with strong oak A favorite among Savanna Grand Arôme fans — huge fruit, esters and integrated heat. The one recurring note: the oak runs strong, edging toward astringent and dry for some.

Review by Mirco
Very intense savanna with a pronounced Grand Arôme character. The nose is dominated by fermented fruit, esters and solvent notes, accompanied by citrus zest and spicy wood. Powerful and complex on the palate with ripe fruit, herbs and a pleasant sweetness that blends harmoniously with the wood. The alcohol is excellently integrated and underlines the depth of the profile. A rum with a strong character and complexity, which for me is clearly one of the best Savanna bottlings.
Review by Jakob
Grand Arôme in its purest form meets wood: The barrel influence is finally not completely lost next to the fruit esters. Excellent representative of the Savanna Grand Arômes.
Review by Dr.Django
Review by TheRhumhoe
An intense, concentrated Savanna, as the rather flashy lava photo suggests. We get a veritable bouquet of diverse aromas, from medicinal notes (esters, glue, solvents, varnish) to fruit (strawberry, apple, raisins, tropical fruit) to spices (cinnamon, baked apple, pepper) and elegant oak. The profile is luscious, opulent and complex, living up to expectations. The attack is masterful: the full power and depth of the juice can be felt through woody notes, lively spices (cinnamon, chili, pepper), leather, phenolic notes of glue and varnish, but above all the ample, heavy fruitiness that invades the palate with strawberries, dried fruit, olive, overripe exotic fruit and citrus. This aromatic panoply is accompanied by a warmth on the palate that reminds us that we're dealing with an intense, dry, powerful rum that hides its game very well. The alcohol is really well integrated. The finish is particularly long, with a strong attachment to tropical fruits, strawberries and dried fruits, but the spicy, woody notes come with the tannins to give the finish a kick. Olive brine, medicinal notes and cognac also return in concert. A superb Savanna in its purest form, powerful and charming as can be.

100% vanilla The rums from Savanna Distillery are some of my favourites. I recommend everyone to try especially vuce ester pieces like Grand arome or HERR. You haven't felt so much fruit in a few little drops of liquid for a long time.

This one was also really good and we all agreed that this series was overall a really good one. The nose is very fruity with tobacco and wood and there is some ester in there as well. The palate is complex and equally fruity with sugarcane and some wood/barrel. The finish is long and fruity with wood/barrel.

Magnifique !

Puissance et concentration me vient à l'esprit.

Magnifique produit ! A fruit compote with a lot of punch !

A great aroma very "concentrated", perfect expression of the full proof, aromas of red fruits (very ripe strawberries, cherries..) very present in the nose as well as in the mouth, very long finish. The power of the alcohol makes the note slightly lower.

Review by Guji Guji
Amazing rum, fruit bomb, olive oil, custard and dried fruits. The alcohol is wonderfully integrated, it's round and smooth. Endless finish ! Delicious poetry in a glass of rum!

Review by Joël
Einer meiner Lieblings Savannas. Grossartiger Stoff!
Review by FischeJ
Review by Gaston NP
Review by Ayc
Review by Michal Jurka
Savanna exactly to my liking, the only thing I miss is a bit of technical/chemical notes in the taste and the abv could be little lower though.
Review by Morten Nørregaard Rasmussen
The nose really fruity in the front, and then the alcohol kicks☺️💪. Wild grand Arome
