Chairman's Reserve Master's Selection (40ans Dugas) 2012

There's more going on here than the modest label suggests. The nose is heavy and opulent — ester and olive up front, then pineapple, banana and red fruit, with smoke, tobacco and a pastry note rounding it out. It drinks softer than expected, and the alcohol is beautifully integrated at 45.9%. A spicy, slightly medicinal finish keeps some bite. A characterful pot-still Saint Lucia.

Interesting profile, fruit, tea, wood, spices. The dilution seems to me nciht quite understandable, on the palate is lost some intensity. Too bad, because so I am left primarily with the thought of what would have been possible aromatically with the original strength.

Very good ste Lucie at a great price. A real success: ester, tropical fruits, copper... and a pastry touch on top. Frankly, a top quality price at a nice and easy degree.

Ok rum za rozumnou cenu, svěží vůně, něco ovoce a rostlin.

Avg Rating 8.2/10 over 230 Rums

St. Lucia Distillers is the island's only distillery and one of the most versatile in the Caribbean. Four stills give it eight different distillates, molasses and cane juice, pot and column, which its blenders turn into everything from the humble Bounty to the cult Chairman's Reserve and the super-premium Admiral Rodney. It rebuilt itself after an arson fire and is now owned by the same group as Martinique's J.M and Clement.
