Aluna Coconut Rum
"Endlich mal ein echter Kokos-Rum und kein Likör" is how one member put it, and that's the appeal here: real toasted coconut chips and coconut water, a little banana and vanilla, and a creamy, oily texture that isn't drowned in sugar. Neat it reads a touch alcoholic and barely rum-like, but in a piña colada or daiquiri several tasters rate it above Malibu and Cut & Dry.

There is no rum on the nose here at all. Really, not at all. Could also be vodka. But with coconut. Lots of it. Fresh and roasted. Then similar on the palate. Little rum, somewhat edgy alcohol. But pleasantly little sweetness, velvety texture and absolutely natural coconut. Roasted and lightly spicy in the foreground, with buttery coconut water behind it. Great, and especially great in cocktails.

Hinweis: Tätigkeit bei Perola GmbH (Spirituosenbranche), teilweise berufliche Involvierung bei bewerteten Abfüllungen. Alle Bewertungen sind meine persönliche, unbezahlte Meinung. für einen Kokos-Rum angenehm "trocken" und nicht so mega bappig süß, dazu kommt eine echt angenehme Mischung sowohl aus gerösteten Kokosnuss Chips, sowie Kokoswasser und ein Hauch Banane & Vanille. das ganze sehr cremig und ölig. unbedingt Mal im daiquiri und Mojito ausprobieren, da zeigt er richtig was er kann! dazu top PLV und endlich Mal ein echter Kokos Rum und kein Likör, Dank unter 20g Zucker pro Liter.

Coconut rum is probably the only flavored, spiced or otherwise modified rum.The Aluna is a great representative of this category, through and through natural in smell and taste, not overly sweet, just very tasty.Without having tasted them in parallel I would say that the Koloa Coconut for me has just ahead, but it also costs ten euros more.

Der hat sicherlich seinen platz in der gutsortierten Cocktailbar. Bin über jörg meyers cristal pina colada drauf gekommen. Da macht er was er soll und versrömt wie ein malibu die kokusnuss ins glas, nur halt als klare Flüssigkeit

Toller autenthischer Kokos-Rum. Pur ist er dann doch recht alkoholisch und steht damit hinter dem Cut & Dry, aber im Cocktail super. Besonders um Cocktails, die sonst kein Kokos beinhalten, einen sanften twist zu geben

The nose has lots of coconut but not synthetic, real husks and coconut milk. A touch of white chocolate. The palate reminds me of desiccated coconut confections. Very sweet, lots of vanilla complimenting the coconut. Not too much finish beyond a lingering coconut. Not as sweet and overbearing as most coconut rums. Would make a great cocktail and it's pleasant to drink neat.

I’ve used this as my rum for Pina coladas for a while but picked up some Planteray Cut and Dry recently to see which worked better. Also grabbed some Bounty Coconut liqueur. Blind tasted side by side in Pina Coladas (50ml coconut rum, 40ml coconut cream, 40ml pineapple juice, 15ml fresh lime) with Aluna Coconut and Plantation Cut and Dry. This was done with friends and both my and the consensus opinion was that Aluna Coconut was best, Cut and dry Second and Bounty last. Trying it neat it doesn’t have an artificial flavour like the Bounty Coconut. On the nose it has the strong coconut smell and also vanilla, toffee and white chocolate. The palate delivers on the nose and has a creamy texture. Short to medium finish of coconut vanilla and banana.

Hammer. I really like the coconut. tastes a little more alcoholic than expected which is good! The feeling of a rum is not lost with the whole coconut. Just mixed a piña colala with it. Great experience. Price performance is absolutely right!

Most coconut rum is heavy on the suger this is a lovely clean rum with little add d suger so not overall sweet... A great sipper that's different to koko kanu

Der Geruch eröffnet sich als recht frisch und fruchtig, mit eine sehr starken Kokosnussnote, gepaart mit reifen Bananen, Vanille und Mandeln. Geschmacklich wird man hier nicht enttäuscht, ganz klar ist die Kokosnuss hier im Vordergrund, gepaart von Vanille, Banane, Ananas und Mandel. Recht süß, aber auch sehr mild, ja schon fast cremig und gefällig. Der Abgang ist für mich eher kurz, Kokosnuss und Mandel dominieren hier. Für mich ein guter milder Rum, der hauptsächlich in Cocktails seine Verwendung wird.

Read full review →It does what it is intended to do well. The coconut flavours are well-defined, without being sickly. The base rum whilst light adds just enough alcohol, vanilla and toffee notes to be more than just a neutral base. Surprisingly good.
