Velier Hampden Trelawny Endemic Birds (Black Bird) OWH 2012
People who already know Hampden and want the softer, lower-ester end of the house will get the most here. OWH means citrus, green apple and apricot up front, with light wood, briny olive and a creamy body underneath. At 59.9% the alcohol needs air — give it 30 minutes and the fruit opens up. Fresh rather than wild.

27.03.2021 A nice Velier tasting thanks to my friend Cheng from Singapore. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, faint smoke, fruity, light polish, faint grass, light floral, faint chocolate. Palate Warm, wood, light smoke, fruity, pineapple, light caramel, faint chocolate, light olive, faint salt, light floral. Finish Medium long and warm, wood, pineapple, faint chocolate, light floral, spice. Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while or the ABV will cover the full experience.

Gut, andere Preise vielleicht

Great Hampden. All the markers are there with a subtle balance. Powerful finish on the... coffee... rather original and especially very pleasant!

For me it is a real favorite! This rum is so expressive and complex.
