I love this rum because of its fruitiness and I have an extra backup on the shelf. The nose is really fruity with spices. The palate is lightly bitter, yet sweet and balanced. Fruity from the start with spices and oa with a hint of varnish. The finish is long and lightly bitter with roasted oak and caramel. Price to quality is very good.

Solid and quite young and bright Guyana VSG! Not too woody, nice spice and fruit and a nice aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, baked apple and some caramel. In the finish, subtle tannins, dark chocolate and young wood.

Very woody, vanilla nose. Sensations of apple and earth come through. On the palate, it's warm, spicy, sweet, with licorice and a slight bitterness on the finish. The rum gains in warmth and finally becomes caramelized, thick, delicious. Medium finish. A lovely discovery that gains in interest as time goes by and the temperature rises. Edit 2nd tasting: same as first tasting. Very pleasant. Slightly too alcoholic for an early line-up, but really nice.

A new boring tasting session with young pot still single cask Guyanese rums. Kill Devil 12y, 61,1% Barikenn 8y, 63,3% The Nectar 10y, 62,5% SBS 10y, 64,6% C: Gold N: 5min in and this is the most not-Guyana of the bunch. I imagen this as how a well-aged Foursquare pot still would be. It has that warmness. Red and yellow apples, nail-polish remover and ripe bananas. Celery as well. Was this rum partly aged in the Caribbean? The nose will appear to those who like sweetness and nastiness in their rum. Worthy Park anyone? Love the nose! M: Lots of red apples, much like The Nectar, but floral and a bit sour with good balance. Nice mouthfeel. A few rubber bands are there too. F: Short and ohhh floral. B: Yes. Why boring? Every rum brings something slightly different, but I like them all.

Nose: some fish, spicy, woody, vanilla, young wood, nutmeg. Palate: spicy, ginger, caramel, raisins, varnish, young wood. Aftertaste: medium-long, varnish, spicy, resin. Herbals. Conclusion: tasty, but simple
