LVMH Cuba Ron S.A. Eminente Reserva 7 ans
Most tasters land on the same take: a soft, easy Cuban with vanilla, caramel, coffee and dark chocolate, and a short finish. Newer drinkers call it a great first step; enthusiasts often find it a touch thin and one-note at 41.3%. A few notice sweetness, one member the "smooth Cuban style." Roasted nuts and a little woody-tobacco edge round it out.

How does LVMH Cuba Ron S.A. Eminente Reserva 7 ans taste?
Aggregated from 368 community reviews.
Soft, sweet Cuban with coffee and vanilla Well-liked as a gentle, everyday Cuban sipper full of vanilla, caramel and coffee. The common gripes: short finish, a bit thin, and not much complexity for seasoned palates.

Rhum plein de promesses mais tout aussi plat...
Review by Jack M
Sweet and smooth but has a good character of roasted notes, spice and chocolate. Maybe not the most dynamic or complex but it is very enjoyable to drink neat. I could see myself getting through a good amount of this very easily.
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
surprisingly good and harmonious cubaner! not too thin, nice and unusual notes of balsamico, sherry, dark walnuts and prunes! for me currently one of the best cubans on the market, could only be a few € cheaper. Does really well in a daiquiri as well as an old Cuban.

Assez léger, assez simple, simpliste...

Un ron sans ajout, assez rond mais loin d'être sans intérêt
Review by Jakob Deiner
Drinks: - Pur: 2.5/5

Very nice, not too sweet but still enough. Floral and caramel scent, chocolate taste
Review by Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓
I only gave the rum 52 points last year, but now, after tasting it again, I have to correct myself upwards. I find the rum very inviting, especially on the nose, with pleasant vanilla. On the palate, it cannot deny its origins, a typically Cuban rum, but unfortunately, as a state-bottled rum, it is also typically relatively weak on the chest (a decisive difference to most independently bottled rums from Cuba). Originally only produced for export, the rum is now also to be offered domestically, although it is questionable which Cuban can afford such a bottle. Of course, the bottle (made of Mexican glass) is a real eye-catcher! Another plus point. Update 2025-10-25: If you are offered the rum at a hotel bar, as I was, you can confidently accept the offer. You will hardly find a better rum at a hotel bar (at least not in Germany). The only thing missing is a spicy cigar 😉 Another 2 points up to 75.

Beautiful fruit notes no sugar.I was never a fan of Cuban rums. But I like this one very much.unfortunately too thin. A few percent more would be desirable here
Review by Jakob
Very pleasing nose, the toast aromas with vanilla and dried fruit are really pleasant. The picture continues on the palate, with a very rounded profile, even if the aromatic complexity remains manageable. The alcohol makes a brief appearance, but is quickly embedded in the sweet and fruity spectrum. Has potential, further years of ageing will definitely help.

Very nice Cuban rum which for me is the perfect balance between Havana Club rums and Santiago de Cuba (e.g. the 11 Años). It's very balanced and you can taste the Spanish style of caramel and sweetness but also the typical Cuban taste. It also has some floral flavor.
Review by Godspeed
A connoisseur’s cuban from a recent but very capable brand that requires some knowledge. This is a rum that seeks to replicate the 19th century profile of cuban rums (as opposed to the more famous early 20th century ones). Notably this rum is 70% aguardiente and 30% molasses. Aguardiente if you dont know is a cane brandy produced from repeatedly heating previously fermented cane juice. You get a taste profile with similarities to cachaca but with the aging and cuban expertise and flair applied here making it far better than what you might imagine from that. The taste is light-bodied but still sharp and dense, benefitting from time and some water to develop. An excellent sipper and a beautiful collabo between the cuban govt and LVMH. A little gem for those who know their rum history.

Amazingly smooth with a long and warming finish lots of coffee and custard notes
Review by cigares

Very pleasant rum, greedy and very balanced
Review by Michael Schillheim
Pleasant nose, spicy, coffee, vanilla, chocolate and nutty. Very mild on the palate, the alcohol kicks in a little at the end. Peppery, woody, rusty. The medium-long finish is a little bitter. I gave it 7.4 points at the first tasting. Today a slight increase of 0.2 points.

Angenehmer kubanischer Rum mit interessanten Kaffee und Kakao Aromen. Diesen Rum sollte jeder einmal verkosten.
Review by RumTaTa
Tasted during the RumX Eminente tasting. Somehow stronger than the Gran Reserva No1 but not as versatile as the latter. A good Cuban with much more character than the usual suspects.
