Savanna The Wild Island Edition - Mer 2003
Pour this one neat and give it a few minutes to open. It's a 15-year Savanna column-still rum, and the Armagnac influence is the whole story — raisin, dried fruit, grape spirit, cooked caramel and a smoky-oak edge. Several tasters call it dry, spicy and a little bitter, with roasted-oak notes that sometimes crowd out the fruit. Distinctive rather than easy.

How does Savanna The Wild Island Edition - Mer 2003 taste?
Aggregated from 57 community reviews.
Dry, oaky Savanna with strong Armagnac grape Most see a well-integrated Armagnac finish over Savanna fruit power — raisin, smoke, spice. The catch: it runs dry, woody and a touch bitter, and one taster flagged rough alcohol.

Yesterday we had a Savanna tasting evening and went through 5 and it was a pleasant surprise. The nose on this one was fruity with anise some caramel and wonderful smoky oak. The palate is well balanced and also fruity with spices, some toffee and again the smoky oak. The finish is fairly long and spicy with dried fruit and roasted oak.

Superbe Savanna bien marqué par l’armagnac. Belle gourmandise
Review by Benoit Mahe
Review by Ayc

I love it! 89 Maputo #988: Mit Assoziationen zu Cask 987, nur wesentlich besser.

Interesting combination of the heavy Armagnac cask influences and the fresh Grand Arôme notes. On the palate, the result is a rather unusual aroma picture that knows how to surprise positively. Unusual and certainly not a crowd pleaser, but one or two people might like it.

somewhat like el dorado's wooden still(VSG, EHP and PM), both of them remind me of Bourbon or Rye whiskey. similar flavor in nosing and similar texture in tasting. not typically overripe tropical fruits, rather a plate of fruit in the living room which is daily edible: hints of Sherry oak whisky or Armagnac. good

Beautifully integrated Armagnac finish!
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
Very nice harmony of Armagnac finish and Savanna fruit power. Delicious but also quite bitter, burnt and woody, you have to be up for it!

Tolik ovoce v nekolika malo kapkach tekutiny jste dlouho necitili.
