Foursquare Private Cask Selection Diadem (The Whisky Exchange)
Varnish and tropical fruit jump out first, then the familiar Foursquare run of caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and baking spice, with dried apricot and raisin underneath. The Madeira cask adds a dry, tannic finish that a few tasters loved and one or two found a touch much. At 60% the alcohol is well woven in but pushes on the palate. A polished, complex 12-year that fans call among their favorite Foursquares.

Foursquare auf normalem Niveau. Schöne Vanille Noten. Wirklich nicht schlecht, auch etwas Gebäck, das sich am Gaumen entwickelt. Schön dann im Abgang. Flasche bräuchte ich jetzt aber nicht unbedingt eine davon. Dennoch ein guter Warm Up für die Village heute Abend.

Das Madeira finish ist hier eher nicht von Vorteil. Der Alkohol könnte besser eingebunden sein und insgesamt dominiert eine eher störende Lack Note die vom Madeira Fass kommen könnte. Ansonsten sind hier Trockenfrüchte, Karamell und diverse Gewürze zu finden. Ist in Ordnung aber kein Highlight.

As you would expect, a Foursquare at a consistently high level. In my opinion, it fits in well with the previous ECS bottlings without really breaking out at the top or falling off at the bottom.

Varnish and tropical fruit leap out of the glass. Bitter almond marzipan, infused bourbon vanilla.the alcohol is well integrated on the palate and the aromas from the nose appear in the right order.the finish is long with vanilla dessert.you shouldn't sulk your pleasure. A rum that has it all, drinkability and fruitiness. It could do with a little more dirt to deepen its aromas and put it in the big league. Even slightly better than the Empery.

8,5:On the nose, nail polish and varnish, toasted oak, brown with burnt sugar, caramel, chocolate, leather, spicy with baking spices, flowery molasses, earthy with tobacco, dried fruits like raisins and apricots, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, hints of cardboard, coffee are out, roasted nuts, caramelized, citrus, tropical fruits like coconut, hints of glue and metallic patina, molasses is herbaceous. 8,6:On the palate, the attack is sweet with toasted oak and notes like burnt sugar, caramelized, cocoa, pastry, caramel, nuts and leather, spicy with baking spices, vanilla, pepper, fruity with coconut, citrus and dried fruits, tropical, some candied. The molasses becomes candied, when the rum is well rested, dark with black tea, earthy...Nice complexity! 8,4:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, with typical Foursquare markers lingering on..

Another wonderful rum from Foursquare. A bottle and sample hard to find, but if you do you have to try. The nose is fruity with oak and vanilla and in the back there's some varnish/polish. The palate is complex and lightly sweet. A full bodied rum with fruit vanilla and some peppery notes. The oak is also represented like in the nose. The finish is long with roasted oak and a hint of vanilla and chocolate. The glass the day after is even better on the nose.

Kleine Reihenverkostung des RX2192, des RX7623 und des RX7158. Insgesamt landet der 7158 auf dem ersten Platz. Alle haben ein sehr ähnliches Profil. Alle sehr gefällig. Mir gelingt es aber nicht, sieht man vom ABV ab und der unterschiedlichen Intenistät echte Ausreisser in der Qualität zu benennen.

Der Alkohol schiebt hier ordentlich an, vor allem am Gaumen. Die Nase hat neben Lack eine schöne Waldhonig Note. Am Gaumen dann recht süß und die Tannine schlagen kräftig ein. Darunter das Übliche von Forsquare

Just another good foursquare. This one has a nice plus in some varnish in the nose, that adds to the usual FS traits, caramel and spices, and to cask influence with red fruits and candles, traits that are there both in the nose and drinking. The cask surely adds some nice layer of complexity, nice pick

... Foursquare je destilerka z Barbadosu produkujici uzasne rumy ke kazdodennimu popijeni. Je to rum, ktery oceni zejmena rumari, kteri maji plne zuby cukru a hledaji jemny, nasladly rum plny kokosu, vanilky, cokolady a karamelu. Proste prijemne a nijak agresivni chute.

I finally committed to a bottle in my last Whisky Exchange order and have no regrets. It may be my favorite 12 year from Foursquare. Nose is fruity/nutty and perhaps vanilla. Tasting was spicy at first sip but the sweetness caught up. Very healthy balance even for Foursquare. As a bourbon fan, I am not surprised I enjoyed.

Read full review →Foursquare Rum Distillery Diadem, might not be one of my top five Foursquare rums but it would likely still rank pretty highly in any top 100 I might one day produce. It's a great rum. It would certainly be the Jewel in the Crown for a lot of other distilleries!
