Brewdog Distilling Co. Five Hundred Cuts Botanical Rum
Opinion runs hard against this one. Most tasters find it drowning in cinnamon, allspice and clove — one calls it "flüssiger Lebkuchen" (liquid gingerbread), several find it too sweet and the spice artificial. A couple grant it a round, smooth body with a mulled-wine warmth. Really it drinks like a Christmas-market spiced spirit more than a rum you'd sip on its own.

The look inside the bottle
How does Brewdog Distilling Co. Five Hundred Cuts Botanical Rum taste?
Aggregated from 21 community reviews.
Very sweet, Christmas-spice dessert spirit Deeply divisive and mostly disliked: too sweet, cinnamon-and-clove heavy, and tasting artificial to many. A few enjoy the mulled-wine dessert angle, but most wouldn't buy it again.

Well, I don't really know what to say about this. I really like cinnamon and allspice, but this is really too much of a good thing for me. It's also just far too sweet for my palate.

Tasted 09-11-2020 This is hands down one of the worse rums I have ever drank . My review read that if you like your rum tasting like winter gin then drink this hideous concept. Heavy on aniseed , lovely for Christmas pudding not for flavoured sugared rum like this .

A sweet dessert drink. Nose: lots of cinnamon and cloves on a sugar cloud. Round and smooth, not the slightest sharp or alcoholic note. Palate: similar sweetness and cinnamon-forward impression, with cloves like in a mulled wine. A little astringency as in heavy red wine. Finish is short and viscous.
