Longueteau XO
Sip this one neat — it's built for slow drinking, not mixing. Expect dried apricot and fig, peppery spice, a light woody backbone and a touch of licorice, with a salty-floral edge a few tasters noticed. Elegant and dry at 42%, with a genuinely long finish. The one recurring gripe: the nose is on the quieter side compared to how good the palate is.

How does Longueteau XO taste?
Aggregated from 20 community reviews.
Dry, spicy aged agricole for sipping One of the better aged agricoles people here have tried — spicy, dry, dried-fruit-driven with a long finish. The only real knock is a nose some find weaker than the palate deserves.

Review by Stefan Persson
One of the best Agricole’s I’ve tasted, but the weak nose makes me stop at 92. The finish is quite long and goes as on the palate. It’s a blend of some of the best vintages from the Longueteau house, that consists of 70% 8yo, 20% 9yo and 10% 10yo Rhum.

Last Sundays tasting was a great one and one of the best ones this year. A great rum at the current price tag.

This agricole I bought in Guadeloupe 2018 comes with a really nice bottle with looks great in every home bar. The nose starts with hay and wood and becomes more and more complex with fruits of dried apricots and figs and some minutes later candied sugar and fruits to that still wooden basis. The taste is very spicy and with many herbs. Some seconds later accompanied by fruity notes of dried plum and liquorice. The finish is not too long still with the dried plum and liquorice. A little bit salty too. Everything fits perfectly in this masterpiece of french-caribbean art of distilling.

Review by Émile Shevek
