Nine Leaves Encrypted III MK3
Most people find this one genuinely different — nutty, winey, and unlike almost any other rum. Tasters keep landing on chestnut and sesame brittle, old red-wine cask, raisin and sour cherry, with a distinct sake note on the nose. A few call it unbalanced with the alcohol a bit loud on the palate. It rewards repeat sipping; one member said it took several tries "to decrypt" it.

Milder nose than in the taste, Yoshiharu remains true to the Encrypted profile with the earthy here increases and especially in the smell of sake is more present than in the MK2. The finish is very refreshing on the one hand but also dry which you have to like.

Mal was ganz anderes. Ich hab hier eine nussig-fruchtig-würzig-holzige Nase. Marone mit dunklen Beeren und Trauben. Irgendwie leicht muffig, alte Rosinen, altes Zeitungspapier, alter Tabak. Hat aber auch etwas von dunklem Honig. Hat was von einem alten Rotweinfass. Am Gaumen wieder nussig-fruchtig-würzig, und leicht säuerlich-salzig-bitter. Ich finde wieder Marone und deutlich Sesam. Kirsche? Rotwein wird intensiver, dazu dann etwas Muskat. Im Abgang etwas Rotwein aber auch irgendwie etwas grünes sowie orange. Den muss man wohl öfter probieren um ihn ganz zu entschlüsseln, aber er gefällt!

I like it well, something different. The first impressions on the nose are reminiscent of aged Bordeaux and old wood barrel, then come more nutty-sweet notes, towards sesame brittle bar and citrus. On the palate, also a lot of nuttiness, plus strong wood. On the finish I have young wood and fresh herbs.

Overall not quite as balanced and round! On the palate, the alcohol is too present! Compared to the IV he loses m. E.
