Uitvlugt (Port Mourant) Kill Devil 1999
Citrus, cookie dough and that unmistakable Guyana funk — mineral, chemical, faintly medicinal with iodine and a whiff of pencil shavings. This is a Port Mourant pot still from Uitvlugt, continentally aged, so it reads lighter and drier than the dark PM you might expect. Vanilla, green banana and licorice show up, but a few tasters find it flatter than its 16 years suggest.

How does Uitvlugt (Port Mourant) Kill Devil 1999 taste?
Aggregated from 41 community reviews.
Dry, mineral Port Mourant with citrus and funk Well-liked but not the top of its class — several found it a touch flat for the age, and PM's damp-cellar, iodine side isn't for everyone. Others enjoy it as a daily sipper.

For 16y it's quite flat on the nose, a little citrus, cookie dough, tea and the familiar Guyana gauze 😀 I find it quite good as a daily sipper, but it depends on the situation, today it wasn't quite my cup of tea. It starts with a nice sweetness that quickly turns spicy/peppery and woody.

Today three Uitvlugt from 1997 24yr (RX11475), 1998 22yr (RX8122) and 1999 14yr (RX6548) parallel in the glass. In contrast to its competitors, the Duchess has a nice dark color, while the others are very pale. In terms of taste, the Tamosi is just ahead of the Duchess. Unfortunately, the Kill Devil cannot quite keep up with its competitors.

Port Mourant ist leider nicht meins, mich stört der Geschmack nach feuchtem Keller. Riecht für mich auch irgendwie erdig wie ein Whisky.

It is extremly mild. But I do taste Haiti in the taste for about 20%. And it does not work well with Uitvlugt IMO.
