25.09.2020 Tasting at a local wine shop that is no more, unfortunately. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Faint wood, varnish, polish, anise, light herbal, plum, faint chocolate. Palate Intense, light wood, varnish, light herbs, anise, light chocolate, light citrus, spice, light grass. Finish Long and warm, polish, anise, light herbs, dried fruit, light ginger. Extra note Needs to rest for a good while or the ABV will bite.

A rather surprising Martinique rum. Clearly citrus on the nose, but with a surprisingly pungent edge. Cane, too. Slightly woody. Same on the palate, but the alcohol is not sufficiently integrated.
