Velier Enmore Demerara Rum EHP 1998
One taster sums it up neatly: not always does a rum need long years to be great. This is one of the rare Velier Enmores bottled at just nine, and it plays lighter than most Demeraras — citrus and herbs up front, a little vanilla, then wood and a touch of honey-smoke. At 64.9% it starts prickly and closed; give it time in the glass and the EHP still character opens up, drying out to a long, minty, faintly chocolatey finish.

The honey and smoke notes almost give it a Rockley feel. Completely new and exciting look at the Mark EHP. Clear distillery character.

21.08.2020 Having a nice day at home with some samples. Notes Light to medium dark in color. Nose Wood, light roasted, workshop, light floral, plum, light earthy, faint caramel. Palate Intense, wood, faint smoke, faint coconut, light caramel, faint chocolate, medium dry, naturally sweet, berries. Finish Long and warm, complex, balanced, wood, fruity, light caramel, faint chocolate, faint smoke.

Serve pazienza e tempo per capire a pieno il potenziale di questo rum! Uno dei pochi Demerara Velier con soli 9 anni di invecchiamento! All’inizio è sgarbato e non si percepiscono tutti gli aromi ma con il passare dei minuti i tratti distintivi di Enmore si fanno sentire tutti! Questo è l’esempio che non sempre serve un lungo invecchiamento per fare un buon rum!

The old Velier Demerara rums are the best you can taste in the rum world. The rums aged more by accident for several years in the tropics and no one topped up the barrel contents. The excise duty was 90% and more, which is why the taste is especially full and intense. Even though it is an extra expensive affair, I recommend trying a rum from this series at least once in your life.

Heute ein Sample auf den ich sehr gespannt war. Wunderschöne helle Farbe inder Nase zuerst recht mild. Etwas Kräuter aber vorallem Zitrusfrüchte mit etwas Vanille. Am Gaumen zuerst auch Zitrusfrüchte etwas holzig zugleich auch eine leichte Süße. Im Abgang kommt noch Minze dazu.
