Aroma visualization from community tastings
Velier Foursquare Destino Richard Seale 2003
Near-universal love here, with a small dissent worth hearing: most tasters call this the best Foursquare they've had, all raisin, coconut, dark chocolate, oak and spice at a hefty 61%. The Madeira-cask influence sits there without taking over. A couple of drinkers still felt it was very good rather than the great rum they'd hoped for.
The community says- Dark chocolate depth
- Well-integrated wood
- Alcohol perfectly balanced

Rich, chocolatey top-tier Foursquare sipper Widely rated the peak of the Foursquare range — dried fruit, chocolate, spice and beautifully integrated wood. A few felt it's excellent but not quite the leap they expected.

Je me régale!

Wow, this is probably how close you can get to a perfect rum. From opening the sample bottle the flavours just come oozing out. The Madeira Cask is there without being too dominant. Fruity with spices and the perfect amount of wood. I'd really like a bottle but they're very hard to find now.

In the nose, no doubt, we are at Foursqaure. The solvents and coconut are omnipresent but we find notes of almonds, tobacco, fruits (banana-orange), the nose is rather promising and we know that there are watts behind all that! It is fruity/concentrated as we wish, we want to dive into it! The attack is rather alcoholic, but the rest is only greediness ... Indeed, the middle of the mouth pulls on tropical fruits, and the more time passes and the more it is fun and pleasant. We are in front of a fruit cake, with beautiful red fruits in pagailles. The whole sprinkled with spices. The finish is rather long on the fruits coated with a nice woody and chocolate notes. No doubt, this is the best Foursquare I've had the chance to taste so far!

To date, the most impressive testimony to the quality Foursquare is capable of producing. Aging in former Madeira barrels brings a perfect flavor complement to the usual Foursquare profile and puts the Destino in a different league than the bulk of other Foursquare bottlings. Excellent.

It's very good but it's not the great rum I was hoping for
