Velier Caroni Heavy Trinidad Rum (The Nectar) HTR 2000
Tar, rubber and a menthol-pine freshness up top, then it turns oily and creamy on the palate with wood, cherry and a faint caramel edge. This is a 2000 Caroni at a full 70.4% — the classic hydrocarbon markers are all there. One taster caught ripe mango hiding under the smoke; another disliked the almost gin-like nose. A long, warm, dried-fruit finish.
The community says- Classic tar and rubber
- Long warm finish
- Divisive minty nose

How does Velier Caroni Heavy Trinidad Rum (The Nectar) HTR 2000 taste?
Aggregated from 20 community reviews.
Oily, tarry cask-strength Caroni for sipping Loved by Caroni fans for its textbook tar-and-rubber profile and endless finish. The high proof is well-integrated, though the minty, gin-like nose divides people.

28.11.2017 Meeting up at a friend's house each one bringing a bottle. Pretty surprised that there were 3 Cadenhead's in the pot. Notes Dark in colour. Nose Fresh, wood, light roasted, light mint, pine, faint wood and tar, light nutts. Palate Oily, balanced, wood, light roasted, light floral, light rubber, cherry, light caramel, faint tar. Finish Long and warm, light rubber and tar, dried fruit, light floral. Extra note ABV pretty well integrated.

Su-perbe

Flawless Caroni 2000 with a typical profile. Some hints of moroccan pastries add more complexity. Probably the best from this vintage !
