Slightly bitter and properly spicy. Not a rum for the sober palate. On the contrary, I find this rum almost perfect as an after-dinner digestive. Its powerful overall combination is a wonderful match for the palate, even after a spicy meal. Wood, dried fruit, subtle sweetness, mineral, properly roasted. Pear paired with leather and mocha notes, cedar wood and floral honey.

In the nose still nice fruity notes, dominate on the palate and in the finish a lot of roasted notes of old mocha, leather and some spice! Actually my thing, but in this case a little too one-sided for me

Die Nase ist beim RX2711 hellfruchtiger, sonst beide eher ähnlich zurückhaltend. RX2711 hat mehr helle Früchte, der Alkohol ist mittelgut eingebunden. Stechend im Abgang. RX6221 gefällt mir deutlich besser. Hier ist der Alkohol gut eingebunden, mit einer deutlichen Holznote und mehr Kräutern. Insgesamt viel komplexer. Im Abgang wie sein Bruder grasig. Hatte beide wesentlich besser in Erinnerung. 80 Pkt. & 83 Pkt.

Im direkten Vergleich mit Karukera Japoniani. RX6221 ist Relativ bitter, Holz, Röstnoten, etwas Gewürz, bisschen kandierte Früchte. Finde den jetzt nicht schlecht, aber der Japoniani ist ein anderes Level. Deutlich mehr Gewürznoten, etwas nussig, grasig, schöne Holznoten. Alkohol gut integriert. Beide Rums eher trocken. Insgesamt Jsponiani viel besser ausbalanciert und komplexer.

Schöner geschmeidiger Agricole mit vielen runden Aromen und weniger die einschlägigen Agricole-Marker. Sicherlich floral, aber viel Frucht, vor allem an der eher schüchternen Nase, und stets mit Karamell/Honig, Gewürz und manchmal Anklänge von Schokolade.

Bislang bin ich mit Agricole noch nicht so wirklich warm geworden, daher wurde es mal wieder Zeit für ein kleines Crosstasting. 1. RX7238 (Neisson Full Proof): Insgesamt mehr auf der frischen/fruchtigen Seite. Alkohol sehr gut eingebunden -> 8,5/10. 2. RX10968 (St. James V&B): Hier gefällt mir besonders die Nase mit der dezenten Klebstoff-Note, trop. und getr. Früchten. Am Gaumen dann deutlich würziger/röstiger und leicht bitter -> 8,6/10. 3. (RX1146) La Mauny: An der Nase recht süß, mit sehr viel Karamell, ger. Nüssen und Vanille. Am Gaumen initial eine florale Note, danach dominieren Gewürze und Holz -> 8,5/10. 4. RX2216 (Kill Devil Bellevue 1998): An der Nase Minze, Schokolade und etwas Rauch. Am Gaumen ebenfalls Schokolade und Minze, dazu Holz, Karamell, etwas trop. Früchte und Leder. Hat mir geschmacklich am besten gefallen. -> 8,7/10. 5. RX6221 (Karukera Velier 70th): Für mich an der Nase am "agricolsten". Im Gegensatz zu den anderen Vertretern im Tasting kann ich hier direkt an der Nase ausmachen, dass es sich um ein Agricole handelt. Typische frische, grasige Noten, Zuckerrohr und leider auch eine leicht modrige Note mache ich aus. Auch am Gaumen für mich ziemlich floral/blumig/grasig. -> 7,9/10

Al naso frutti secchi(datteri, prugne) e non(pere sopratutto, ma anche qualcosa di tropicale), pelle, zucchero bruciato, tabacco e legno. Molto interessante! Al palato è caldo, mielato, avvolgente con datteri, caramello salato, floreale, lieve tostatura, pelle, tabacco, violetta, pepato con un finale abbastanza persistente. Una bevuta Guadaloupiana molto buona e affascinante, grazie a Dr.Django. Il voto oscilla tra 8.7 e 8.8

Solider Karukera, was bereits hohes Niveau bedeutet. Wiederum gelungene Melange aus Holz, Würze und milder Süsse gepaart mit dezenten Fruchtnoten - hier mit etwas stärkeren Akzenten auf der Würzigkeit, was sicher auch dem etwas höheren Alkoholgehalt zuzuschreiben ist. Nicht mein Karukera-Favorit, aber unbestritten ein vorzüglicher Rum.

Farbe: Altgold Geruch: Zurückhaltend süß mit schwachen pflanzlichen Aromen. Dabei insgesamt weniger frisch und süß als Cask No. 26. Riecht fruchtig nach Ananas, Birne und gekochter Banane. Zudem Eichenholz und Honig. Geschmack: Zu Beginn sehr kräftig und wenig süß. Beim Schlucken würzig-scharf, dabei intensiv mit viel Honig sowie kandierten Früchten, Karamell und Tabak. Abgang: Honig, schön würzig, kräftig und lang. Trocken-holzig im Nachgeschmack. Fazit: Klasse Rum, in etwa auf dem gleichen Niveau wie das Schwesterfass No. 26. 89 Punkte

Very good one. Grass, dried figs, a lot of spiciness on the nose. Then I got marc/grappa style notes, but light and delicate. Warming on the palate with medium spicy finish with wood, tobacco and some raisins.
