This is Savanna's Grand Arôme funk from Reunion: fermented fruit, cane fibre and a cooling menthol finish. Several tasters call it expressive and fun, though a couple wish the 57.8% pushed harder and note it thins out mid-palate.

Typischer Grand Arôme mit den erwarteten Savanna Noten aus vergorener Frucht, Ester und leichter Lösungsmittelprägung. Die 57,8 % geben zwar Ausdruck, wirken aber etwas zu zurückhaltend, mehr Power hätte der Abfüllung gutgetan. Im Vergleich zu neueren Releases mit über 65 % fehlt es hier an Tiefe und Komplexität, weshalb die Bewertung tiefer ausfällt.

#4168 If you like Savanna you're going to like this one as well. Nice and intense with some funk. Lots of fruit in the profile and I'd go as far as saying rotten fruit 😊 Love the menthol in the finish.

Impressive savanna grand arome, with usual funky traits of vinyl and strawberries, plus the usual complexity sustained by the abv. Esters are noticeable, but also a fresh side is clearly emerging while drinking

Really delicious. A very expressive nose, with a nice smell of cognac, spices and ripe fruits. That we find in mouth. Alcohol very well integrated

Un nez de vernis, de banane, d’herbes médicinales et avec un léger acétone. L’entrée de bouche est vive, mais aussitôt un peu acqueuse, les fruits tapissent ensuite la cavité buccale avec du menthol et d’autres végétaux. La finale est plus courte que prévu avec un côté un peu bonbon. En bref un rhum intéressant, mais il manque de complexité et l’alcool est un petit peu trop présent à mon goût.

Un nez qui démarre sur l'acétone. Et cette combinaison si particulière de yaourt à la fraise et à l'ananas trop mûr qui suit toute la dégustation. Le degré rend ce rhum accessible et permet au boisé de s'exprimer. Sympa.

Savanna hat schon geiles Zeugs gemacht früher. Leider sind die Zeiten vorbei, als es verfügbar und bezahlbar war. Selten findet man noch einzelne Flaschen zum Ausgabepreis, obwohl der Marktwert sich schon verdoppelt hat oder mehr.

Nouvelle doublette Savanna dégustée avec le poto Selvam Carlier: Lontan GA 2002 - 57,8% Vraiment délicieux. Un nez très expressif, avec une belle odeur de cognac , épices et fruits bien mur. Que l’on retrouve en bouche. Alcool très bien intégré. J’ai vraiment bien aimé 🥰 Unshared Cask Danemark 2009 - 59,1% Nez très réservé et fermé... En bouche, il est légèrement fruité, avec de l'amertume et du chocolat amer. Finale très sèche. Sortie assez décevante je trouve. J’en attendais bien plus pour une 1ere version danoise.
